Once you decide on a Legion, the obvious next step is to choose an enemy legion of the other allegiance for them to battle.

I just added to my own puile of shame- another Starter, 2 sets of Questoris Knights, and a pair of Lucius warhounds.

Anyone willing to PM me where I could buy one of those Lucius Warlords? Or two/three? No 3D printer yet, may have to invest in one.

Man the paralysis is real. I can't even decide loyalist or traitor

I can't find any STL support worth a damn so this looks to be an entirely traditional hobby project, so do I want to cover my titans with statues or tentacles?

Very close to finishing my kitbash of a phantom titan. Was a fun learning experience.

I plan on making a tremor cannon, heat lance, wraithglaive and a massive hell weaver monofilament spinner.

Eventually will do a few other exotic eldar titans of my own creation, once I get this and the Wight posted earlier finished.

Thanks Samus.

I've now finished all the weapons bar the galive.

I plan on doing a modified set for the revenant so it mirrors the phantom's arm design.

And my weekly shelfie marks an important step:

My Titans (so far) are now assembled (well, the bodies, as I intend to paint armor on sprues and I've still some extra weapons to assemble).
Loyalist forces are Legio Praesagius (4 Warlords, 2 Warbringers, 5 Reavers, 5 Warhounds) and one Psi-Titan.
Traitor forces are Legio Suturvora (4 Warlords, 2 Warbringers, 5 Reavers, 5 Warhounds) and Legio Audax (6 Warhounds).

Now onto our 106 Knights, which may be a tad too much depending on who you ask (my wife definitely thinks so):
- 36 Questoris
- 16 Cerastus
- 14 Porphoryon
- 12 Castigators
- 12 Acheron
- 4 Magaera
- 4 Styrix
- 8 Atrapos

Hoping I'll be finished before the Warmaster shows up.

106 knights is more knights than I would expect any single person to own.

Rules query: Do the custom legio rules in Ryza eliminate the option of choosing traits from any legion?

What do you mean by that exactly? Like just taking the Legio Fureans traits and calling them the Legio Insipidus with different heraldry?
That’s totally still a thing.

The Custom Legio rules also have the option to borrow traits from different (in)famous legios to add to the main custom traits.

But if you mean just mix-n-matching traits form all over, that was never a thing.

The custom legio rules in WD have a trait "choose a trait from any other legio", same for stratagem and wargear. I can't find that in the updated rules in Defense of Ryza so I'm guessing any custom legios are now limited only to options in that one article.

I'm very much enjoying the modelled Eldar parts Hellebore, it looks like a lot of work has gone into those. Well done!

I'm also amazed by those numbers Corwin, that's a lot of trim to paint...

I've been making progress on my Legio Metalica, four Warlords now completed, and some more House Lakar knights, cross-posting from my blog page:

Started designing a new eldar titan I've called the Seraph strike Titan.

It is between a Revanant and Phantom in size and is the only eldar titan designed specifically for orbital insertions.

Seraph Strike Titan
These are a rare class of eldar titan whose design and systems hark back to the time of the fall and the height of eldar hedonism where they took sensation to the extreme. The seraph uses a psychomesh that bonds the steersman’s mind to the titan in a way unlike any other. They feel everything the titan feels. As such only the most devoted of those lost to the titan path can resist the overwhelming sensations produced by the interface.

The seraph, unlike any other titan (eldar or otherwise) is deployed from orbit. The titan freefalls before deploying its grav wings, unfolding like the mighty pinions of an old god. These wings control the descent before the anti grav absorbers initiate to reduce the titan's impact force.

This kind of extreme deployment puts a massive strain on both titan and pilot, requiring that they are reinforced, reducing the weapon loadouts possible. However the most experienced steersman can use this to their advantage, landing on or near an enemy titan and damaging them in the impact.

Seraphs are generally equipped with Revanant weaponry, to save on energy, mounted as paired weapons on the forearms.

Personally I hate magnetizing the arms to the point where Warbringers might be worth the extra pennies for less hassle.

If we talk about the reaver, the shooty arms is easier if you just mag the connection point between the wep and arm.
For the mele option, i just blu-tack it. a fresh lump has alot of stickyness to it.

Have begun on the 3rd warhound and i instantly regret it cus i went with yellow and i hate painting more then 1 layer as i dont have the patience for it....... have to cover it up with more rust spots and dust pigments then normal...

Its not so much the connection between the arm and guns, but the connection at the shoulders; dropped in at slightly the wrong slant, or if you cut the top of the arm wrong and it looks awful.

I fared better on the recent one, but won't be getting anymore unless its with the starter set.

Yeah I did the shoulders first because I want to be able to swap in CCWs too. The top part is easy af as you have a guide hole if you go from the top, but drilling the ball joint is hell. My wish was to use the weapon cabling that nobody does, have it attached to the weapon and loosely plug in the cable hole on the hull. But the shoulder attachments ended up being too inconsistent from arm to arm. So then I magnetized the wrists too so I can swap the weapons left/right.

Doubly so when the glue doesn't dry quick enough and it starts leaning. Now, you're desperately trying to scramble for a prop, probably a paint pot, glass of water or some other item that won't help

Ah, building Reavers. I take an age over those trying to get the magnets just right. Like others have said, I magnetise at the shoulder (3x2mm) so that I can swap between gun arms and ccws, and at the arm/gun joint (5x1mm) so I can swap guns and/or swap whether a gun is left or right arm. So incredibly fiddly and time consuming, but I'd be irritated with myself if I didn't do it. Got four Reavers done now though, so I probably won't want to do any more... for a while at least.

 SirDonlad wrote:

Thanks! Though there aren't any upgrades on any of them, they're all straight from the kits. If you mean the right hand warlord in the first picture, the head/shoulders are just alternative parts that come on the Sunfury/Arioch sprue.

Speaking of magnets, I'm trying to decide if I want to magnetize the arms on my Knights or not... Considering that so far the only upgrade kit released was for the Questoris and that I'll have plenty of leftover Acastus chassis in the unlikely case they release an upgrade sprue for the Acastus Asterius...

The 02/28/2020 FAQ states that a player can only field 2 Acastus per Acastus Knight Banner (1 Knight Lord Scion + 1 Knight Scion Marital), and 1 Acastus Knight Banner per Titan Maniple or per Knights Lance, correct ? So building only 2 or 4 per army should be enough.

Made in gb
Fixture of Dakka

Yes. And two boxes of Acastus should be plenty unless you're going for a very high point limit. If you find yourself with 3-4 maniples or lances, you can add more mobility to your force by having just 1 Acastus to a banner, rather than purchase more boxes and waste more points.

Hopefully they might do away with the Auxilary rule in the next FAQ, which I assume will be featured in the next Engine Kill article.
