Do you think this is a mistake as I don't see why they would have removed that? I hope its not a ploy to sell more models as pretty much everyone had them on TW mounts. This pisses me off about GW, you pay for models spend tonnes of hours painting them and GW says nah, they are useless now, buy more models.

If it needs more than 1 kit to make/represent the model, it has been ejected from the codice and put into index.

Wait till GW releases rules for sanctioned converted models much like how the index performs now.

So can we still use the index for models?

I hope we don't have to fork out for another book.

Yes, you can use the Index. Check out the last page of the Designers Commentart on the FAQ section of WHC.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

Great, so I'll hold my moaning until they 100% do away with them.

I doubt they will. if amything it'll be more of a "soft retirtement" where years from now we're on 10th edition and it's in theory still useable but the rules are clunky and it's horriably poorly pointed

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Yes, I have a horrible feeling the index units will suffer the same fate as Dogs of War and Chaos Dwarfs in WHFB. Here, we'll give you some get you by lists but never update them- though they're still legal to use, whilst everyone else gets an army book.

yeah thats my gut feeling. at the same time though, there are proably a few units that definatly needed to be cleaned up. but I'd have prefered that clean up to be done witgh noew modular kits. take the space marine commander kit for example. Imagine if they did a new one of those with sufficant bits to make it a librarian or a chaplain as well as a captain. that woulda been amazing.
