Also makes me think of those weirdos that defend such a piss poor codex.

Well that's one way to help Marines - since obviously Marines are the worst army out there, we should nerf GK!

I honestly have to believe at this point that GW is literally trying to kill off certain things. Starting with anything FW. GKs, any SM faction outside of the big 4 (DA, UM, BA, DW), squats, Titans, Rough Ryders, entire Chaos factions seemingly (LOOKING AT YOU Word Bearers).

They are nerfing them into unplayability, then canceling new productions. I see GKs going bye bye, and I've been seeing it since the Custodes first leaked.

What do you mean by going bye bye, does GW make armies illegal ?

No.

Execept Squats. they did that once. They said never again.

Except every single WHFB army. Because AoS is sooo much better. But that's not 40k.

Except Corsairs. Because reasons.

So it's never happened. Except for the times it happened. And they've promised to never do it again. Which they haven't, aside from the times they have.

It's *very* unlikely that GK will actually become not-tabletop-legal. But it seems likely it'll continue to become more and more of a "secondary" army.

By bye bye I was more saying discontinued pending future decisions. Like Ellysians (or every FW Guard faction) Blood Ravens, and whatever the Ghost Rider SM army is. Sure you can FIND models for them, but they don't actively produce them anymore.

That being said, did I mis read something or did Arbites make it into 8th? I can't find models for sale anywhere.

Deliberately make GK so bad no one will buy them and GW will then cancel the line because they don’t sell?

I don’t believe it, I think GW is just bad at making game rules in the first place. I’m sure they would be overjoyed to sell hundreds of kits for models that they’ve long paid the mold costs off of.

Personally, I think the people complaining about GK being “the suckiest” are overblowing things. At worst they may be “meh”, but still playable.

As for most face-palming idea on the forum, it’s that you HAVE to be using your Codex for your army for this game, or you’ll instalose all your games.

Grey Knights are no more being removed from the game because of Custodes then death wing was being removed because of grey knights etc. Custodes are TOTALLY differant from Grey Knights.
On paper to GW's mind the big thing that makes GKs stand out is their psykic nature. they don't think of GKs as the terminator faction, and TBH? with good reason.
Beyond taking terminators as troops,they're no more the terminator guys then dark angels.

Custodes are the incrediably powerful, and elite guys with no psykers. So yeah very VERY differant aprouches. Grey Knights just suck because they suck this edition. apparently from what I've heard 5th edition was something of a abberation and GKs useally are more on the level of suck then good.

I played a few 8E games with them, and surprise, surprise, I won with them.

"Guardsmen are superior to Tac Marines stat-wise" or "Guardsmen are equal to Tac Marines stat-wise"

It often starts off with a normal and rational discussion over the fact that tac marines are probably a couple points overcosted. Then someone decides that other people are listening to them well enough. So they start taking more and more extreme stances. At some point one of those two lines gets uttered and things crash.

Guardsmen are a worse stat-line than a tac marine. They are also nearly a third of the point cost, but people forget details when they get excited and sooner or later they are defend a mathematically undefendable point. The similar statlines and equipment loadouts of Guardsmen and Space Marines just makes this the same stupid hill that lots of Dakkaites die on.

Please people! Math before you post!

The fact is, there are just too many factions and sub factions. The variety is nice, but you shouldn't expect GW to be able to make all of those factions equally playable.
That is a herculean task.

Credit should be given to GW for making so many factions somewhat on par with each other, but the nature of such variety will always lead to XYZ faction being bottom tier and "unplayable" compared to factions ABC in the top tier.

It sucks when it's your army, but until every army is equally homogenized (to the point where we may as well be playing chess), we have to accept that some armies will suck.
That doesn't make them "unplayable". GKs vs GKs will still be anybody's game.
