So working on a counts as Deathwatch army

Have a unit, want 3 aggressors and 5 intercessors. Trying to decide on what gun to give the intercessors. Either the heavy or the Assault. Both have an advantage and a dsadvantage

I do primarily plan on using the teleportation stratagem with them to get them in place . .

I would go for the Assault one or the standard Bolt Rifle, although posting your first list would be a good start.

Don't have my tablet with me but it looks something like

Primaris Watch Captain
Primaris Librarian

(2x) 5 intercessors with Rapid Fire + 5 Hellblasters
5 intercessors w/??? + 3 Aggressors

1 3 man Inceptors

-------------------IG Vost-------------
2x Company Commander
Primaris Psycher
3 Guardsman units (2 lascannons, 1 missile launcher)
1 Heavy Weapon Squad (2 mortars, 1 missile launcher)
1 Master of Munitions

The heavy weapons are the only ones I have, but may redistribute them

If you're going to be teleporting them close to their target then you have no reason to take the Assault variant. At 15" or less the standard Bolt Rifle has the same amount of shots anyways and has better AP for less points.

I would drop the Master of Ordnance, he doesn't benefit anything in that list.

MOO has actually done well for me as an alpha striker. Not saying he is great, but worth his points normaly

How is he good at alpha-strike? You get one mediocre-at-best shooting attack, then nothing.

Bit of a combo

Give him the Reroll 1's on hit order
Spend a Command point for a +1 to hit

I also give him the Kuvoia Aquila (spelling) and hide him after his shot. Most players will ignore him after that (as he is also not the warlord)

Assault if you're starting on the table, Standard if your porting in from my experience.

You can only take 1 hell blaster per unit.

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

??? You can take any combination of 5 Primaris models on top of the 5 min intercessors.

As to answer the OPs question personally I'd say always go rifles, but I can see the argument for assault bolters if foot slogging. If you are teleporting in the squad to get in range turn one then for sure bolt rifles and likely an inceptor in the squad as well to give them protection from charges.
