Hi Chaps!

Looking for a few ideas on what I could add / change with my current 3D model before I sink the filament into printing, be as honest as you like

What’s the diameter?

Reminds me of the pill boxes in red alert, really hated them

Current diameter for the core part is 180mm, figured this would be big enough to stick a squad in comfortably. can be safely scaled.

Can still remember that RA pill box shooting effect.

I was just going to ask---does the top come off? Looks like a very nice piece. What's the height?

I've left room to add some variant of floor tiles / grill effect on the inside. If you got any ideas for one that looks nice shoot!. as for other interior details, I'm not much of an artist sadly I'll probably put some ammo crates or something in there and glue them in place.

height wise it's 55m for the core part of the bunker, as high as 67mm at the 2 "supports" holding the back up. Roof is a seperate piece aswell as the door.

I was all geared up to say "bunkers are probably one of the least 3D printworthy things", but then I looked at the pics and thought "That's pretty fething cool..."

So, absolutely no "technical" input from me, but a big

Id say leave the two back walls blank or with a specific sized slot so you can slot in some detail flats. like a coms station, or ammo rack, med bed or bunks..... heck even a toilet.

Minor suggestions.

Ditch the Imperial Eagle so it can double up as a Chaos fortification - basically I'd lose the iconography. Secondly I'd consider making the circular vent a slot-in piece, so that you can add turrets/radar dishes/antennas, etc. to the bunker later by having a circular slot you could add them to. Keep them modular and more interesting.

I love the idea about using detail flats, I'll have to have a look whats out there and if not maybe try knock up some basic ones. That really helps for how to detail the inside though!

The iconography is currently seperate, something which could be printed in higher res and glued on etc. Little bit tempted to have a diddle with the model in the morning and see what it looks like with SPIKES EVERYWHERE!

When it comes to the vent I THINK (I'll have to measure it) you could just pop a turret ontop of it and it would look fine? I'll defo fiddle with that idea and Antennas would be a nice bit of detailing I could throw in!

The way the top vents are atm. you would need to recess the grills down a few mills then there would be a lip that whatever top piece you want can go into.
