Having seen the new fiend model - yes it has leather bound breasts - I am very hopefull for this release.

Grats GW, you didn't back down and make (at least one model) PC or SJW friendly, kudos sirs.

Anyone else hyped for this release?

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

Yeah i was happy when i saw they didn't back down from the aesthetic of Slaanesh. If they release a full line ill start an army just to support the release even though it will be on my workbench for at least a year or 2

It's good looking and damn creepy (those backwards rear legs..), but youtube's reaction seems to be "ZOMG LOOK AT ZEH NIPPLEZ!" which is already proving we can't have nice things.

Youtube? Reading the N&R thread made me wonder just how many teenagers Dakkadakka has anyway. And who says teenagers don't play miniature games these days!

All I hope is that they don't go down the cartoon villians route of Nurgle releases. If not - shut up and take my money!

Makes me want to link them to a particular song about what the internet is for since they haven't been told that they don't need to perv out on a plastic model when the internet is there to let them perv out instead...

I really like the fiend and I expect to be sorely tempted.

But barring a major re-write Slaanesh daemons are as one dimensional as it gets and not especially effective.

Although if Emperor's Children got a release and Slaanesh Soup was a thing, maybe.

The whole daemon dynamic needs a rework and this is probably why their codex didn't rename the Slaanesh units, because they're getting their own codex.

For better or worse, at least Fulgrim and Angron are coming at some point. I'd also be shocked if the Lion or Russ don't pop up by next years end.

I love that people think an active personification of non-binary gender (or androgeny? two spirit? whatever. ) is "non-SJW-friendly." I mean, I'm a big ole' gay SJW and I figging love it. The Yncarne, too.

I believe GW has encounter a nice middle ground of adapting to new trends (You can see it with the new AoS armies having many models of both genders, like the Sacrosant Chamber for Stormcast or the Idoneth Deepkin) without abandoning more "controversial" but genuine aesthetical and thematic choices, like Slaanesh, or Daugthers of Khaine.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Hey, for most people SJW is a nice convenient strawman that lives in their head, so no surprise here.

"Our fantasy settings are grim and dark, but that is not a reflection of who we are or how we feel the real world should be. I hate it because that will annoy the kind of eejit who uses the term sjw unironocally.

I'm also glad GW didn't bow to PC culture or SJWs, because I also don't know what either PC culture or SJW is meant to be so I just don't think about it and lump it with all the over stuff I consider to be 'bad'.

Of course a PC SJW would be against sex-positivity and self-expression through kink. Of course they'd be against androgyny. I've done no research.

For what other reason did GW phone slaanesh in then? We know there's a ton of models coming including a new KoS.

When you've seen a Great Unclean One (and his Nurgling buddies) painted up like walking piles of excrement, you realize some daemon nipples aren't the worst thing to grace the tabletop.

Personally, more sex drugs and rock n roll. I can see Noise Weapons and combat drugs being the niche for a 40k release, and as far as Excess, some exploding hits dynamic is (unoriginal but) likely.

There's simply no precedent for a separate Slaanesh Daemons book. Neither Khorne, nor Tzeentch, nor Nurgle has one.

A separate Emperor's Children book is another matter altogether, however. Do either Thousands Sons or Death Guard books include Daemons? I own neither.

I really don't know why 'GW phoned it in' for Slaanesh in the Daemons book. I hope we see Heralds on Chariots and Steeds again, one day. It is irritating to have three Heralds on foot who have D2 claws and three mounted Heralds who do not.

Also, my recent plog experiences would suggest that an intensification of the whole 'kink' thing will be met with almost complete silence

Death Guard doesn't have any of the classic Nurgle Daemons in it. The Thousand Sons book, however, does. It has the Horrors, Screamers, Flamers, all of those in it.

an Emperor's Children book or a Slaanesh Daemonkin book wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility. Slaanesh currently is in a meh sort of place. Pure Slaanesh Daemon lists are incredibly fragile, without all of the gimmicks of Eldar to keep them alive and with none of the ranged weapons. They're entirely close-combat based, which is unfortunate because they don't have a ton of hitting strength. There's a few models that do the job, but they can be targetted down very, very quickly. At the end of the day, you fall into the same Daemon Prince spam as anyone else.

As for Chaos Marines, Noise Marines aren't bad, per se, but they aren't great either, and they fall under the same issues that all Chaos Marines have: 3+ armor and t4 with 1 wound just isn't that great.

But, we'll see what happens. If GW wants to sell these models, it'd make sense for them to get some updated rules to make them better.

I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing more subfaction-specific books being released in the same vein that Khorne Daemonkin were in 7th.

There's a pretty strong need for a Ynnari book right now, so they could even release some sort of Slaanesh vs. Ynnead crossover book. I swear that's what they've been working towards with the increasing themes of Eldar and wraiths/death.
