Well I still hope that if they update demon slanesh stuff, they will also update GK. But then again I thought that when they brought new nurgle demons too.

It's happening, mark my words. GW is bored with the old Space Elf stuff and now wants Primaris Space Elf stuff.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Other releases I can imagine is a dedicated Slaanesh book and a dedicated Emperor's Children when Fulgrim finally comes out.

The optimist in me wants to say Black Templars. The pessimist in me says Imperial Fists 3rd company (seriously, how the feth did that supplement happen?!).
For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

I friend of mine made a pretty convincing argument that John Kirby was just trying what else he could get away with. He probably had a bet running whether he could sell a subfaction of a subfaction of a subfaction.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong: Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other. A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot. Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests. Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books. Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor. Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers. Orks do not have the power of believe.
Inquisition
Sisters of Silence
Adeptus Ministorum (if not with the sisters)
Assassins
Fortifications
See, I think these could well be bundled into an Agents of the Inq. subfaction. No?
All the Marine factions could be bundled together - but they are not.
GW can sell a codex for each.

Unless they invent new types of them, chuck in some vehicles and more options?
Did in previous editions plus there are other Temples to explore than the well known 4.
To be fair, if all the marine stuff was in one book, it be as thick as a text book and likely annoying to navigate.
Not really - only include the actual unqiue units not just the ones with Wolf or Blood or Dark in front and make them available to all -given that we have dozens of Chapters whose "unique" units will be similar to "snowflake" ones and can be represented.
Cavalry, Lone Scouts, Librarian Dreadnoughts, Emperor's Champions etc - add in Sniper teams, Tech Marine Dreadnoughts. etc etc
The massive bloat came form having to find new units for the oh so super special Chapters and ignoring the rest.

100% behind binning Soulburst and having Ynnari be the "Space Elf Deathwatch" faction. Needs to happen so the baseline faction stop getting screwed by the action economy breakage that is Soulburst.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Bonus points if it leads to the Chaos Undivided version of "Chaos Deathwatch" so there's symmetry.

Sisters of Silence are talons of the emperor (but left behind as they had no new models for the custodes release)
Adeptus ministorum are part of the sororitas faction, but are currently being left behind for the same reason as above.
Inquisitions and assassins certainly, but don't really have any meat on the bone since they lost their stormtroopers and militants - honestly they'd probably work best as a big part of a sororitas/witch hunters dex and a small support unit or two in both the deathwatch and grey knights book.
Fortifications seems like a release in of itself for all factions.
Hoping GW releases GSC then "cleans up" some of the earlier Codexes like Grey Knights, Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines.
It's been a long time coming for Orks and GSC, I can't wait to see what they get. But I'm really curious about what GW does to address Codex creep, seems like the design team is aware of problems.

New versions of codexes that start codex creep again once more.

That would remove most of the unique flavour of the other Space Marine chapters. That would make a lot of people really angry. And the resulting codex would still be waaay too large to be practical. The current SM codex is already stretching it (it is already double the size of my DE codex).

The problem is you can't unring that bell. If we could go back to 4th/5th edition when a lot of stuff was added and not done that it be one thing. But at this point those units have to many unique features/options that shoe horning them into generic data sheets would essentially invalidate a ton of models. That's something GW should do as sparenly as possible.

I am almost sure that SM and CSM will get replaced. CSM will likely become "black Legion" and SM will become Primaris. I think they are trying to get as far away from having generic armies as possible, so that they can maximize their IP protections.
Honestly not to cheapen the GSC release, but I want it ASAP after orks. So far 8th has been a process of elimination. Once everything is eliminated from what we know, hopefully that means we will get more less linear releases such as one month a custodes release then a new Necrons kit.
I don't think there needs to be BIG HUGE releases for established armies. Sure yeah sister's will have one. But for say marines I'd rather avoid another large release, though I expect one.

Why? Most of the restrictions are completely arbitrary anyway. Why are the Blood Angels the only ones who ever thought of putting their Librarians in dreadnoughts or giving their tactical marines flamers? (I think Blood Ravens would like to do the former and Salamanders the latter.) Why cannot Dark Angels have Centurions? (Apart from having some aesthetic standards.) Just make most stuff available to everybody, and let the players decide the flavour of their own chapter by choosing the units and gear they think fits their theme.
