Hey guys, about to make a HQ for my SW, was wondering whats good.

Like the look of the Wolf Priest, although they are more support than individually cool.

I am also completely unaware of FOC. Am I able to run a Rune Priest and a Wolf Priest along with say Ragnar? Whether its good or not I'd assume not! But am I able too?

Yes? Why would you not be able to.

That said, Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf is a good HQ choice, so are Lieutenants. Rune Priests are good.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

the FOC was changed in 8th edition. They are now called Detachments, you can find em in the rulebook. Battle-forged Armies at the start of the Advanced Rules.
The detachments you bring determine how many HQ's you can bring.

The #1 HQ choice for SW's is the Runepriest probably because of the -1 to hit stratagem.
Pretty much all of them have a good use. Lieutenant + Lord for re-roll bubbles in a firebase. Or Wolf Priest to support charge elements.
A choppy Lord with a Thunderhammer and Jump pack works aswell.

I'd recommend that you read the stat lines, special abilities, pts, etc & decide for yourself wether you think the models worth putting into your army.

Btw, my wolves are always led by Ragnar (because I own the ages old RT era Leman Russ figure + wolves. In the past there's been no way to actually use the primarch as himself, but Ragnars listed equipment is completely represented WYSIWYG by this figure) & Bjorn (who fought alongside Russ).
After that I add things based a bit on pts left & a bit on "Hmm, I haven't fielded x in awhile." So sometimes it'll be another named guy, sometimes it'll be a priest, etc.
My winning/losing isn't a concern. Just using models I like.

Then you should use him.

Yes you can. You'll want to make a detachment that has enough HQ slots in it. See p.243-245of the main rulebook

There's only one restriction on army composition for Space Wolves: your army has to be organized into detachments in order to be Battle-forged.

There's an extra requirement, which most people use, which says you can only include three of any one datasheet in your army (in a 2000 point game).

But that's it. You could take Ragnar, a Wolf Priest, and a Rune Priest; you could take Ragnar and three Wolf Lords on Thunderwolves; you could take nine Wolf Lords so long as you took three or less of each separate Wolf Lord datasheet

That’s not how the rule of three works.

It’s three data sheets MAX across all detachments.

That's exactly what I said though. Three of any one datasheet in your army.
