After a long hard thinking about the prospect of rebasing all my old orks, I came to the conclusion that i will sooner or later rebas them or never add any new miniatures to the whaaagh.
I know that we are not forced into rebasing but for me personally it would feel a bit like cheating to add old bases to new miniatures.

After the decision was made i started to take stock on what i have painted, it added up to a rather large amount of miniatures.

I have:
131 ork boyz evenly split with shootas or choppas
23 Boyz with special weapons
27 Lootas
18 Burnas
8 Meks with KMB or slugga choppa
32 Nobs with various weapons
10 Flash Gitz
5 Big meks and Warbosses
4 other odd boyz
and about 50 grots.

I will not do anything with my vehicles at this time so I leave them out of this for now.

I started to build up my orks when assault on black reach was released (2008 i think). Since i have evolved my painting technic over the years some of the models are bit worse than the others... Before I knew it I had decided to not only rebase but rebuild and repaint the lot (almost)!

That is what this Blog will about, but first some pictures of the old Whaaagh.

The basic Boyz

Lootas and burnas

The Nobs and bosses

Tank bustas and Kannons

There are bigger pictures in the gallery if you click on them.

I have already painted a bunch of test models and i will take some pictures as soon as i can.

I have finished a couple of batches of miniatures, mostly complete repaints but a few has only been rebased and touched up.

The aim is paint them to a decent tabletop standard so they look good both as units but also individually.

The start of a 20 strong mob of shoota boyz, i think i will change the nob to someone with a combi rokkit.

This will be either a large mob of evil suns on foot or split up as trukk boyz.

The Boss with a random assortment of nobs and odd boyz.

I have 4 more batches of 10 in the pipeline so I should have some more pictures next weekend. I will have to practice some more on my photography too...

Thanks!

I will try to take some better pictures for my next update, I have a decent camera but my lighting and my skill need improvment.

Another week has passed and I have found the time to paint another batch of 10, I have also rebased and touched up 10 more orks.

The beginning of a full mob of Bad moon Lootas.

These Burnas will be mounted in a Trukk.

A few more mixed recruits for the growing Whaaagh.

The next couple of weeks will be very busy so i am not sure i can make an update for awhile.

Nice work jhnbrg, the boyz are looking good on their new bases. I like that you have made the effort to add the little bits of extra detail like the grass on the bases.

Keep up the good work, just a few more to do

Thanks for the kind comments!

I have somehow found the time and energy to paint some more orks, the pictures did not turn out great. I will eventually take some proper photos of each unit when they are completed.

A few more nobs, this will be a rather large mob of evil suns nobs.

Some Grots for the Nobs to boss around.

A few lootas and a Mek, I just need to paint 6 more lootas to have a complete mob of 15.

Some more Bad moon shootas.

Evil sunz including three with tank busta bombs.

I have about 40 more orks in the pipeline and further 60 stripped and awaiting bases.
