It should cost so much I'd never have to see one outside of apocalypse. And I don't do apocalypse.

So instead of just banning them from games 2k or less, or even 2.5k or less, your solution is to point cost them so high they become handicaps in apocalypse games?

I think you missed the point of the poll. I wasn't asking people whether they should be in normal games. In fact, I stated plainly that they shouldn't be in normal games. Only exception to that is if both players want to do it.

So saying they should be costed so high you won't see them outside apocalypse is kind of a useless statement no?

People seem to think point costing warhounds appropriately will cause them to suddenly start getting used in normal games all the time. This is silly, and 7th ed proved why this isn't the case. Every tournament will simply ban them, and any player that sees you taking out a titan before you start playing without telling them ahead of time is never going to play you to begin with.

Warhounds were 720 in 7th Ed, how many people actually ran into them in a normal game without agreeing to it beforehand? Their power has gone up since 7th, but aside from broken abilities like invisibility, they were very likely to one shot any target on the board they pleased with turbo lasers. There was a short time they were allowed in tournaments, but quickly got banned from almost all of them.

If people legitimately think they are worth 2k points of other units, titanic or not, by all means, vote 2k+, I'll respect their opinion no matter how much I disagree, but if they're just voting that because you hate them and don't want to see them in normal games, please stop skewing the poll.

I honestly don't understand why people wouldn't use PL for Apocalypse games...

Like I would agree 7th ed titans were good likely to good for their points each could have gone up 200 easily. But the 8th titans honestly arent necessarily much stronger and now can be hurt by litterally everything. You also cant have a psyker making them invis which was a lot of the broken

Why anyone cares about point costs in an Apoc game is beyond me. Just use PL, like everyone is recommending. Apoc is not a Pick Up Game, nor a Tournament game, it’s a “let’s take the Big Stuff” game.

Its hard to re-cost titans when they need some rules revision.

Void shields, and a real look at how they should work on the battlefield is needed.

I would like to see the Warhound be re-ruled to be in the 1500 range, with the progression being IK ~500, Dominus Class ~600, Porphyrion ~850, Warhound ~1500, Reiver 2500, Warlord 4000.

I agree across the board they need rules works at least for the small classes. But just knocking their points up 800+ in some cases was not a fix it's just a these very expensive models you bought that were playable for 2 editions and were useable albeit not great with the index (for some others were okay) but now we just ignore them. That leaves a bad taste in my mouth j already bought this crazy expensive model and I bought my revenant in 5th sk it was apocalyptic then but I loved it in 6/7 (albeit it was to strong but i played some wackadoodle lists and didnt invis it or stuff it was just my favorite model and the only one I've kept sold everything else). I would play again if he let me use it even at its index 1200 with its garbage rules.

Seems to me you can play it as is any time someone want s to play in a casual game.

Competitive.. I'm going to say I'm Okay with GW making some limitations. Competitive games need to have concerns line balance and scenarios that are addressed in the game.

The points increase was designed almost entirely to address bringing FW super heavies and Titans into competitive and small play games. If you are doing Apoc GW wants you to play with Power Level - which is why super heavies have been unchanged from the initial values for the most part.

To be honest, FW has done such a poor job with balance for 8th that I expect GW just raised their point values across the board in order to ensure that they just didn't have to deal with this headache. 'Same company' indeed.

But that's precisely it anyone who says it's for making it playable games or balanced it has nothing to do with that. They just didnt want you using your corsairs so they squated them entirely it was just like these models officially for our game from us xant be used in the vast majority of play. There arent a lot of apocalypse games and there arent a lot of people not using points only in my areas. So you just dont get a choice for models you purchased from them that were playable. Cause they decided they didnt want fw stuff in 8th but couldn't officially say it.
