As the title says, what's the cheapest points you'd play with (or against) a Warhound or Reaver Titan?

I'd happily play against a Warhound for 2000pts, they're all way overcosted now.

Same, I'd play against a titan at any point level just for the chance to try to take one of those beasts down, and they are probably overcosted anyways.

In terms of do i feei game is winnable below their official point value. They are so sucky if you field one you lose unless board is ridiculously small for point so that sane units can't fit ie are lost before game starts.

However 40k doesn't work with titans. They don#t work like titans and generally are decided by he who goes first wins. Reaver vs warlord? First turn decides. They are basically immobile gunboxes with senseless ranges. If one side has titan and one doesn'' titan side loses. If both have first turn wins. Boring. Pretty models, bad game pieces

I see. So in game terms they are so bad they aren't worth using and way over costed.

We've had a similar discussion about this already...
Basically, they don't play well in normal games because they're not supposed to. I wouldn't want to play them in a game under 300 PL. But ymmv...

Got a bit off topic towards the end(My fault) and there was some firm views on both sides of the discussion. Enough useful stuff to start though.

For me, it would have nothing to do with points level, and everything to do with knowing you're playing a titan. It's the usual conundrum though ( similar to fighting all-superheavies).

A) You bring a titan (or all superheavies) and your opponent is unaware and has less than ideal ways to play against you...and doesn't enjoy the game much.

or

B) You bring a titan (or all superheavies), and your opponent is aware and builds a list to fight them...killing you instantly, and you don't enjoy the game much.

It's rare to see it turn out any other way.

In a vacuum: Whatever the min. cost of the titan is.

In reality:
You tell me how many pts your spending on the titan(s) & I'll match it. What I match it with is my problem.

Here's my titan (a warhound). It's armed with x - because that's the only set of arms I own for it. It costs ____. Build yourself a force equel to that.

I don't want to play a wargame against a single model. It is my opinion that no single unit should be more than a third of your list.

Well in case a non titan gets automatic win. Albeit boring win

What about other Titans? Xenos Titans?

Not good. All have few guns and are 1 model. If you have 2 guns you can at best kill 3 units. If you kill max units. But for example even titan weapons don't one-shot 30 infantry. So enemy takes objectives, score and wins game.
