now that gw has officially said that the codex after the genestealer one is sisters what do you think will be in it will the units stay the same or will there be a few more bit like the custodes . if there re new models what do you think they will be and what the would look like and finally do you think they will re-release all the old model into plastic better looking ones like the custodes(what happened to them not what they look like). also what do you think of the stratagem they have released about them.

Rumor is that Sisters codex is slated for Nov/Dec of next year.

While dead last may technically be next after Genestealer Cults, dead last is still dead last. Not worth speculating about.

So basically no codexes at all from Jan to Nov? I'd be amazed if the Space Marines didn't get an updated codex and 3-4 new units in that time...;-)

New units will be added via campaign books such as 'Vigilus Defiant', supposedly limiting the need to update codices.

I wonder if they'll do a full range release like Idoneth Deepkin or Daughters of Khaine got. 5+ kits with some kits able to be built as multiple units.

I'm not sure what scope there is for new units without models unless GW decides to trial rules based on future releases. The sisters already use the same models for units in every FoC slot with slightly different rules or options but it would be nice to get some of the variety back on celestians, the canoness, etc.

I expect them to release replacements for everything except the immolator. There are about three dozen models in the entire line that boil down to seven kits - battle sisters & weapons/banner, seraphim, repentia, canoness, hospitaller, dialogus, and the exorcist upgrade for the immo. So far the work they did on Celestine looks pretty good.

The stratagems and order trait all have something in common - they take something 'bad' and make it mediocre, with some hope that perhaps it looks better in the context of the full rules. Along with the warlord trait from the last chapter approved I sometimes wonder if GW actually know what playstyle they are aiming for with the sisters.

yes that's what I expected and in particular with multi unit choice kits its just Celestine do you think they would make her a bit better as in lore she went solo against abbadon for about an hour until her two buddies rescued her, but really making her better would kind of make her a lord of war like bobby G but yeah, also I really hope they release that seat thing seen in some images of a baneblade with some kind of huge throne with an inquisitor in it. (sadly I doubt it though)

I thought this was one of the things people complained about most in 7th edition.

Honestly, if they give her the <Order> keyword so she can take OotBR, it'd shore up every problem I have with her and her kids.

I expect <Order> keywords for existing datasheet units, and a few rule changes.

What I don't expect is any changes to equipment/weapon options, any additional unit datasheets, or any real changes to existing unit or weapon statlines.

If the Emperor is truly smiling upon us, then maybe...MAYBE...a datasheet for a 'Palatine' HQ, with one of the current 'Sister Superior' sculpts quietly renamed and/or reboxed on GW's website to fill the gap until the rumored Nov/Dec 2019 resculpt release.

It is. But GW needs a regular release schedule and campaign books are one of the more obvious ways to do that.

Thats not fair at all, many players have been waiting for plastic sisters, to buy into the army right now is outrageous.

The metal models are very nice for their age. Metal isn't a deal breaker for me but unfortunately the price tag is!

Yep! When a 90pts squad cost 110$USD thats a problem...

I checked my 1500pt foot army... my 1500pt army is $980 USD.

My 1500pt Custodes army is $290 USD

Thats only a 690$ difference, thats only 2 armies worth.

I expect it pretty much non stop from pure marine players - as it is on every other thread....

Expectation:
One single plastic model - hopefully spcl character.
Removal of all options not in the current limited metal range
Removal of the Repressor
the Six Order tactics
20 strats some Order based, most ok or rubbsh, a couple good
Relics - as above.
Pts reductions

Thats about it,

Outrageous! Since you already have a SoB army, will you be adding or replacing with plastic models, or are you going to leave your army as is?

I have to admit that there's no way I'm not buying a box of plastic Sisters when they're released.

I have a squad of sisters and an Immolator for them but this isn't really far. In a game that is already expensive sisters are probably the most expensive, and are all metal. They have stood the test of time well but they are limited in pose and options.

I'm conflicted about it, myself. On the one hand, I love my metal sisters and feel no great desire for plastic models. On the other, I want GW to release new things for sisters and 'voting with my wallet' by buying the new plastics is the most effective way to foster that.

Hopefully the new release includes something new, like a sisters centurion armor unit, that I can buy in order to not mix and match metal and plastic battle sisters in my squads AND do the 'wallet voting'. Even then...i'd probably convert the new unit to add some metal bits, just so they have somewhat the right weight to them.

If that is the render they gave the preview for its hard to see what would be special about a Sister with a bolter.

Removal of all options not in the current limited metal range

Poor Inferno Pistol Seraphim, they'd be useless without them.

Removal of the Repressor

Good thing its in the FW book and not the index.

the Six Order tactics

Interested to see what the other Orders get.

20 strats some Order based, most ok or rubbsh, a couple good

That many? If so, maybe I will get some SoB datacards...

Relics - as above.

As long as we get to keep BoA...

Pts reductions

On Repentia, PenEngines. fix the Exorcist.

Are we discussing the upcoming BetaDex or the SoB Dex coming along with the plastic sisters Emperor willing 2019 (my bet is still 2020)?

A ton of armies and a terrain habit...

I'd imagine sisters getting some kind of new tank or maybe a bike unit.

Sisters bikers would be pretty cool. Another thing I can't resist is bike units.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what they actually do release, I have very high hopes for the models.

I don't know. I have about 1500 pts of SoB already. I'll absolutely not replace any squads. So it depends upon what new stuff is released. If I like it? Then I'll expand the force up to 2k pts. If I don't like it? Then my force stays as is & if I need +500 pts I'll just soup in something.

Somewhere in Canada

So my big question is whether the chapter approved beta dex will include ministorum units or just pure sisters. This will give us a clue about how the real dex will drop.

Also, in the full dex/ model release, I really hope gw gets behind the repressor. It's just such a fluffy vehicle; release an Adeptus Arbites kill team with 40k rules that include it as an AA transport. Great for Necromunda too. Although unfortunately, I must admit it's a 50/50 shot at best.

There are still codices to drop before the sisters. They could make Ministorum its own dex; I'd love to be able to organize my army into multiple small detachments for the most flexibility in allying them with my sisters. There will also be an inquisition codex, which I expect will include assassins and sisters of silence.

I think there might be a full on kroot army/dex coming down the pipe. Maybe a slaanesh/ emperors children release... I mean we saw the noise marine.

I don't mind the campaign box/ book thing. As mentioned above, I like having many small detachments rather than one big one, and campaign boxes allow you to build small detachments for multiple armies in a single release. Small detachments also provide better integration with compnents of the microgames (necromunda, kill team, blackstone fortress, etc).

We also have Canoness Veridyan.

That said, the Boxing Day Sister could be a Canoness or Imagifier with a Shield of Faith increasing bubble, and it'd be fair to price her at 60 pts, seeing that a KFF costs Orks 20pts.

I know this wasn't addressed towards me but I'm so flippin excited for SoB I had to chime in here.

I have 1600$ saved up already and am planning to continue putting 50-100$ per paycheck in until next november, plus half my tax refund. I'm not just gonna replace my SoB army with a plastic army. I'm gonna replace it with 3-4 plastic armies!
