Simple question mates. Am looking for possible Conversion ideas to possibly create my own Regiment of Imperial Guard and one site I came across recently was Mad Robot Miniatures. Has anyone attenpted to create their own IG Regiment utilizing any bits from Mad Robot (such as legs, torsos, etc), and if so how did it turn out

I did this with a combination of Mad Robot and Victoria Miniatures with a Tanith army a few years back. The army was a gift for a buddy. Mad Robot and Victoria are both outstanding bits and will match up just fine. Get creative and go for it!

Here are some pictures. My personal opinion is YES! Mad Robot works well with GW. Of course, there is a difference in what I ordered from Mad Robot (going for a light infantry look) versus the regular Cadians from GW, so without the extra armor and helmet, my Mad Robot parts appear slightly smaller, but would be within my acceptable tolerances. No two soldiers are exactly physically the same size anyway ("what's up Chicken Legs" "Fatty" and "Skeletor" have all been nicknames in units I was a part of in reality...).

I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions! My experience has been very good with Mad Robot, and I like the small details, like keeping the finger out of the trigger guard on a pose where someone is obviously not firing their weapons... But that is me.

Don't forget to have fun. Life is too short for bad miniatures!

I highly recommend Madrobot miniatures part in conjunction with GW IG plastic range; Victoria miniatures are more in line with FW IG parts being very slightly toward 28mm historic scale rather than heroic. You should also check out Reptilian overlords for additional unique parts that is not available elsewhere: https://www.reptilian-overlords.com/

Here are some of examples from my collection:

I have some AdMech-flavored Guardsmen that double as Skitarii sometimes:

They are made from a combination of Skitarii and Anvil Industry parts.

Also a big fan of their recent bionic line.
