Hello All,

Here are some photos of my latest work. It is a Space Marines Dark Angels Librarian in Terminator Armor. It is the Finecast resin version of this model. I have had the model unassembled and unpainted on my shelf for years and needed to paint him up and get him done.

Went for the shiny new look for his armor. This is a kind of contrast for this model to anyone who has had to work on the early finecast models can attest to. All of the pits and holes gaps and extra resin flash on these finecast models. They were always a mess. Frankly, I preferred working on the metal ones far more.

Never have been a fan of the finecast resin stuff. Probably why it sat on the shelf for so long. But, I finally got around to it and it turned out better than I had hoped. I know the shiny new look is now old school but I kind of like it.

I pinned him to the base and pinned his arms to the torso. The Totem/Banner pole ( or whatever it is called) is pinned with a much finer size metal pin and is removeable. Some people like the banners, other don't. I personally liked all the banners that used to come with the character models. The hole left on the top of the armor is very small. I cleared coated it several times with Testors brand dull coat spray and went back with brush on gloss on the metallic and gem like stuff. So they would have more shine. Added some Army painter tufts of grass for a little more affect on the base.

I have it up on eBay currently if anybody is interested in him. Here is the link. https://www.ebay.com/sch/dman89/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=50&_sop=1

I hope you like my work and thank you for looking.

D.

Fantastic work. This model looks like it should be placed into a show cabinet.

I'm curious, did you have to do a lot of repairs due to casting issues?

Thank you for the compliment. I hope that it will be used on the game table kicking butt and taking names.

More repairs than I care to deal with on one model. The early finecast resin stuff was just horrible with all the bubble holes, bent and missing parts and more flash than most metal models. It was easier to remove the flash but all the holes were just a nightmare. I tried to fix as many as possible but some just had to be painted over.

Thanks, I kind of feel rather old school myself. I guess maybe I am. I can remember when models were mostly lead.
