I have another question for you, thanks very much for your help so far your making a huge difference to my play style and getting the rules correct.

Question. 1 is about ctan powers and if I need to list them on my roster i.e pick them and stick with them for a whole tourny or can I change them as I need?

Question 2 is more interesting and relates to the straegium cosmic powers. My question has 2 parts, firstly can I pick a power that I have already chosen that's on another model? Secondly does that change last for th whole game

1. You need to ask the TO regarding the Tournament. However, you have to declare the powers before deployment begins, because they are done "Before the battle" and the rulebook FAQ states:

A: The game begins when players start the Deployment step of a mission – all abilities and Stratagems that are used ‘before the battle’ must be used before then.

It's not exactly clear whether these need to be stated on the army list before you decide the mission etc. or can use these stratagems after that has been determined but before deployment. I think you technically can use these stratagems after the mission has been decided up to the point before deployment begins, but I am not 100% sure on that one.

2. Yes, you may pick one that is already used. The restriction on duplicate powers is only when selecting powers "before the battle". Yes, this is a permanent change and lasts the rest of the battle.

First of all, RAW has nothing to do with tournament rules, any TO can rule whatever he wants. Now, actually reading the ctan power rules would answer all your questions. The very first sentence says :

Before the battle, generate powers of the ctan for each CTAN SHARD unit using the table below

There is your first question clearly answered. Multiple battles, you can choose different powers before each battle. This is RAW, a TO may rule otherwise.

Yeah, the power can't be re chosen until all have been bit applies to the start of each game.

But there is a strategy that lets you change out a c'tans power in game, so you could have 2 c'tan with the same power but it costs you a CP.
