So, here is my dilemma.
I would like my custom space marine chapter to have a custom helm, one that features a singular lens in the center of the face.
My problem is that I don't have the modeling skills needed to realize my vision.
I was wondering if there is a helmet for another model that I can use or if I could get someone to help me make one.

pictured is what I'm thinking of.

Reminds me of some Death Guard models I saw in an old issue of White Dwarf. Would need to dig them out, but I can certainly think of examples where this has been done before.

As far as making them goes: are you looking for the identical helmet on each model or different versions for variation? There's a couple mailing lists for sculptors where you can find someone who would be willing to do this for a certain amount per helmet. I'd get a master made then clone it with resin.

Looks rather easy to make from this Skitarii helmet and the eye made from the CSM smoke launchers

Games Workshop Delenda Est.

Users on ignore- 53.

If you break apart my or anyone else's posts line by line I will not read them.

I would like a single helm for most of my models. The only difference would be their paint scheme to denote rank and role. Any mods beyond that for the likes of librarians, apothecaries, chaplains, and captains I can mod myself. I just need a base I can build off of.
Like you said I just need a single master made so I can replicate it for each model. If you have links to those mailing lists that would be appreciated.

To give a little more context I'm essentially Ad-hocking my Army together from bits/broken models from eBay.

Do you guys have any links to the mailing lists that you're talking about? I'm having trouble finding them.

This is one:

I have been on the mailing list for about 5 years, there's a fair amount of activity.

There are several others. Having a little trouble with my inbox atm.

SimainLich, if you are looking to get a 3d model made may I suggest first hiring someone on fiverr.com to make an STL model to your specifications and then using 3dhubs.com to get the item 3d printed in resin.

I had a quick go at trying to 3d model the head you gave an example of, but I think you'd get better results from a professional.

Further I would add you're going to have a heck of a time trying to cast your example with the pipes. So either have a bunch of heads 3d printed OR have the head and pipes separate if you're going to recast them from a master yourself.

To be honest I'm still trying to figure out what method would be best for creating the head. A 3d model wouldn't be a bad idea as I don't have to worry on wasting materials and thank you for the heads up on those services. I also don't care if its a super professional job. Its going to be so small that most fine detail would be invisible.

Can I get a screenshot of what you've tried?

I was working it out in primitive shapes and this is how far I got in about half an hour using Tinkercad.

The scales are off and I would not use tinkercad's standard shapes to create a finished item. All curves, bevels and flourishes are better created in other software. I'd probably use a vector drawing program to create elements and then import them.

This was a work in progress model I was working on which took an evening to get to the frankly crappy state* of a blank corvus helm I could modify with monocles, targetters, custom chapter insignia and other doodads. (*they are full of bad geometry that won't 3d print as well as poor surface detail, seams and missing bevels)

I believe I can create better models than this. It just takes a very long time. For example the bolter image in my current forum avatar took a couple of evenings to get right and bolters are relatively easy to model for a beginner like me.

You're pretty skilled for a beginner, the beakie helms look pretty good.

Thanks. They were quite the challenge to produce as Tinkercad only really does primitive shapes. Anything much beyond boxes, spheres, cylinders and cones requires some creative thinking. Typically using shapes to subtract material from other shapes.
