So hats you’re thoughts on who would be the worst to be invaded by out of the post heresy traitor legions?

My top three would be

1 Emperors Children as they are just sick and to far gone.

2 Night Lords are scary as hell and would probably skin everyone alive if not worse.

3 Word Beares as they would feed you’re sons to demons or make you’re skin a new book cover.

Hmm... I think you've pretty much got it on that. I feel like Word Bearers would be worst in my list because of the daemons that don't care about you. But Emperor's Children you might be able to get some favor from them by doing things to appease Slaanesh.

I think the worst would probably be Death Guard. Nurgle feeds off of total despair, and the world would just just turn into a depressing quagmire, even if you manage to repel them, it would probably sunder most of the planet beyond repair.

Iron warriors.

Siege warfare of WW1 esque proportions and the face of ending up as a daemoncuba.

I think Iron Warriors also. From all I have seen on Battlereports and what I had as rival.

If it's fluff, Black Legion are right up there with the Tyranids. They take slaves, kill everyone else, and destroy all idolatry of the previous regime. They are the Legion with the resources to get the job done.

If it's rules, Alpha Legion. Would hate shooting at things that are always in cover.

Lore wise.

I will go with Black Legion too. They are the largest, best equipped and one of the most organised Legions, so your world is unlikely to hold them off.

They have devotees of Slaanesh, including former Emperor's Children. They have devotees of Nurgle (some being Death Guard) and of Khorne and of Tzeentch. They have warriors from all the other Legions, as well as renegades of a thousand stripes, and innumerable mortals.

The Black Legion is also known to make widespread use of daemons and possession, like the Word Bearers.

Basically, anything bad that could happen as a result of any other Legion, the Black Legion could do to you- torture, possession, enslavement, simple slaughter. But they are more likely to gain control over you in the first place to do it.

Not a Legion but Crimson Slaughter would also get a vote. Did you read the fluff in their supplement regarding the planetary invasion?

If not, it was Night Lords on steriods with poltergeists!

Obligatory...best Chaos legion: Dark Angels

Night Lords - They knew they were monsters before turning traitor and never apologized.
World Eaters - Only Primarch that didn't conquer his homeworld...and yet his sons still tried to emulate him and screwed with their own heads...
Word Bearers - One of the Emperor's few mistakes was letting Lorgar start preaching in his name.
Iron Warriors - A truely misunderstood and under-appreciated primarch and legion.
Death Guard - Mortarion was so anti-psyker, one of the sponsors of Nikea, and yet becomes a creature of the warp and a psyker anyway...what a duped moron.
Emperor's Children - The only ones they have to blame for their fall is themselves.
Thousand Sons - Wasn't their saying something to the effect of: "Legionnaire > Psyker > Man" or something like that. Guess they forget they were Legionnaire at one point.
Alpha Legion - Are they traitors? Are they?

Personally I think the Black Legion is the worst Chaos faction, lore wise at least. "We're the best, the most brutal, Emperor's favorites, everyone wants to be us" and yet they can't see what a tool they're becoming due to some sniveling schlep named Erebus. Now: come join us, but make sure you paint most of your armor black...how dumb.

This occurred to me too. I thought they were relatively small and contained to a single planet - no?

The Iron Warriors are absolutely brutal, as they are pretty much the definition of soulless, mechanized warfare. If they invade your planet, expect to find yourself and your loved ones to be used as fuel for their siege machines and Daemon Engines.

Sons of Horus were worst, the Black Legion are best.
