I would add the KS is at over 200% funding already in its first few hours. And if anyone is wondering, Scale75 has said these will be available separately later on. The KS is a bit of a deal, and a chance to get them first.

I'd love to get these. Only thing is, I don't trust paint coming through the mail when it's minus 40 Celsius. ....that and the cost of shipping is......ludicrous.....to Canada. I'm paying as much as its costs to ship to Brazil.

It's shipping from Spain, so what's going on is the Atlantic, I would think . Not much of a difference when shipping stuff, I'd say. Or at least it's not the other way around...

I ship stuff all the time all over the world.
It does not cost almost $50 CAD to ship 12 tubes of paint from Europe.
If it is just the Atlantic, then why am I paying 10 Euro more than the US?

GW called, they said their paints are now 3.6 for 12ml
Man, I love Scale 75 metallics. Haven't tried regulars, but these look tempting.

I mean, my frame of reference is Vallejo, where I pay less than 2.50 for a 17ml bottle of Panzer Aces. I haven't bought paints from GW in a decade or more.

Still, if they can truly deliver consistency of art line products coupled with model paint coverage, I'd be willing to pay the asking price.

Anyone have any experience with their non metallic lines?

From my understanding it also functions way differently than normal vallejo or gw paints.

seems to be mostly pigment, less thinned so you possibly get way more paint for your buck. you can always thin the stuff to hobby paint consistency but you cant go the other way. it seems it would function a bit more like oil paints for blending and applying but as i have no experience with it i cant say that for sure.

il give it a go once it comes into retail and if my local stores carry it.

Yep, very matte and can be a bastard to shake adequately because the medium is gel like rather than completely liquid, but otherwise good quality. Just bought a second set to go with my existing wood and leather and odd bottles actually.

Well, why am I paying $40+ USD to ship a softback book? I mean, that's how shipping costs usually look from this side of the ocean. Just this week I learned that shipping the Battletech core box from the USA would cost me almost $60 USD.

I don't know why it would cost more to ship to Canada, other than maybe expected amount of shipments (maybe that allows them to get a better price from the shipping company).

I stopped selling internationally on eBay precisely because I could not compete with local auctions, due to the outrageous shipping. Via the USPS, with a two week shipping time, a 5lb. package to Spain is in the $30-$40 range.

Since the Great Recession, shippers have been reaming customers, especially for overseas transit. Fuel prices prompted additional surcharges. Guess what? Though fuel prices have long since come down from peaks, they are still charging the extra fees. Add in the horror of dimensional weight pricing to the discussion, which has become near universal. I won’t go into detail here, but it amounts to ‘We’re going to charge you what we think your package should weigh, based on its size, not what it actually weighs’. By the way, this is never in your favor!

So yeah I have actually mailed packages overseas and help complete and fulfill two Kickstarters.

I am making a comment about shipping being expensive for a bulk order and not an individual. There is a HUGE difference in cost when you have an account and ship many packages at once or frequently. All businesses that do any shipping at all have an account which offers significant discounts over the average person sending one box at a time.

Forgive me for mentioning the fact that I'm paying as much to ship this stuff to Canada as it is to ship to Brazil. There is a massive difference in price no matter where you ship it from. It's where you're shipping it to, is where most of the cost comes from.

So before you go off and start throwing your weight around like you know what you're talking about because you shipped stuff on eBay a few times, maybe take some ones word that this shipping to my location is ludicrous for 12 tubes of paint. It's 50% of the cost of a tube to ship it to Canada. And sorry, it's not almost 40 bucks for a package that will weigh around 2lb and from a company that very obviously has accounts with more than one shipping company.

I'm glad you have a nice job, friend. I've been selling on eBay since 1999, and have done more than a 'few' transactions in the last 20 years. Yes, there are 'bulk' discounts, and for regular customers of the shipping service. However, I doubt they are all that massive for a company the size of Scale75. Maybe you haven't checked the rates us little people have to pay lately. The price I quoted for my hypothetical package to Spain was accurate for the USPS, and was why I stopped selling internationally. So, sorry, but I can only offer my experience of international shipping and the hassles it involves. I don't envy your job, and if you don't like the rates, well you can wait and hope someone near you does carry them. See you around the internets.

Spain the government sets the shipping prices. There's no competition as no one can ship lower then what the state owned post charges. It's one of the more expensive places to ship from because of that.

Well look at that. They matched the Canadian shipping to be the same as the US cost. I wonder why they did that? /sarcasm
