Agree with the in-depth 3rd person shooter idea!

But it would have to be sort of like the Diablo games where you could replay the game on harder and harder difficulty and get good loots. Or another idea would be at the end of the game your Space Marine goes into hall of fame type thing where you can see all his gear and stats, then when you start a new game it's a new marine and you can play him differently, get different random gear type thing. Maybe there are a few different beginning quests based on what chapter you picked. You could get different achievements based on how many Space Marines you had for each chapter/power level of each marine. There could be like a mini-game laid over top of the actual game where you're building each chapter marine by marine with each playthrough. Of course it would be just for show, maybe just a 3d of each marine with a basic inventory of their equipped gear and a copy of their gameplay stats. Most importantly would be a 3d 'diorama' environment where you could put your dudes on display and nudge them around and stuff.

Gets along better with animals... Go figure.

Take the design team of mass effect 1 and 2, give them the 40k IP and make a game with the same character focus as ME1 and 2, a RPG lite or action RPG, make it 3rd person too, basically the same care and passion that went into the ME series bar ME andromeda

Out of my Mind

Dynasty Warriors: Primarchs

While I think it would better fit AoS (once everything gets updated with new heroes), it’s a 40k question.

- Players would be allowed to play the Primarchs Story through the Horus Heresy. Both Loyal and Heretic.
- Players would get immersed as a character in a war, where their actions would determine the outcome in a particular part of the battlefield, rather than controlling the entire battle as an observer. Something that has been in the theme of 40k stories, Art, etc, but never fully captured like the Dynasty Warriors games could do. I’d, the battle continues in parts of the scenario that aren’t influenced by the player.
- Tutorial levels focusing on their unique battle abilities would start with them in a position on the day they were found by the Emperor.
- Free Play mode would allow Primarchs to fill in for others to answer those ‘What If’ questions, like what if Russ was at the Siege on Terra, etc.
- Customizable Honor Guard Unit that would remain with the player, would be one way to Incorporate their replacements, like Abaddon, and Bjorn.

BONUS: Upon completion, Players would be allowed to create their own Primarch allowing them to pick from a mix of traits from the primarchs that have had their storyline completed. Then create their own storyline that would allow them to decide how they would’ve chosen in the Heresy. This is where the ‘Mass Effect’ writers could be incorporated. The final Level would be why this created Primarch is one of the expunged Legions that we don’t know about.

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

My dream game would be an up to date game of epic. Using an updated range of miniatures (shudder to think what they'd charge nowadays) and just as importantly an up to date range of scenery.
Imperial Guard with a Space marine strike force versus Chaos/Daemons and traitor guardsmen. I'd imagine Titans duking it out whilst striding between buildings, with tank battalions battering each other from afar with shot and shell, all whilst the infantry try to get to grips with one another while simultaneously trying to take and hold key objectives.

I've been playing a while, my first model was a lead marine and my first White Dwarf was bound with staples

Since I watched Pacific Rim, there is a need for me to enjoy some mech & monster beatdown. GW already produced various mechs but we need still some abominations. Here is an old post of mine which addresses this:

Codex Galactic Uber Horrors

Five Galactic Uber Horrors (GUH) should be included in the next release from GW.
They rival Imperial Knights in size.

The GUHs can be included in your 40K games in three ways:

1. Cataclysmic Event: One or several GUHs enter the game randomly and wreak havoc upon the opposing armies. The GUHs use the rules for Reserves and Deep Strike.
Both players roll a D6 and the winner places the GUH anywhere on the board but not in the deployment zone of a player. Reroll any ties. If more than one GUH is used they are alternatingly placed by both players and start to attack the nearest opposing unit.

2. Rampage: One player takes control of one or several GUHs and tries to demolish as many gothic skyscrapers as possible. The other player tries to stop him with a conventional 40K army that defends its home/city/ hive.

3. Imperial Kights (Renegade): The GUHs can fight each other or against other suitable units for this game.

List of GUHs in Codex Galactic Uber Horrors:

Kit Options: Three different heads (Firebreather, bites victim head off (SM, Ork or Eldar) and swallows victim whole (Cadian guardsman, CSM or Genestealer)), three different tails, three different objects held in hand (rock, lamp post or kiosk) and three different objects being trampled under Foot (cadian guardsman, SM Rhino or Daemon Prince).

Emperor Kong

Note: It is obligatory that the woman is a blonde.

Arachnia
Appearance: Gigantic furry spider.
Kit Options: Three different heads, three different abdomen and a plethora of various webbed victims & small vehicles or GMC.

Glob

I want something akin to Steel Division Normany or the Wargame series of RTT games, sans the silly control point system of the Wargame series and at epic scale with titans and full regiments of units. Full combined arms warfare on ginormous maps encompassing entire hives with literally hundreds of units on the map at once.
