How do!

Another quick question.

I’ll start with the hypothetical.

Say I’m playing Four Armed Emperor GSC, against Black Heart Caballites.

I decide it’d be funny to Detonate Concealed Explosives. My opponent, having none of it, uses Agents of Vect to try to nix it. Other than the required CP in my pool, is there anything to stop me trying to nix Agent of Vect with A Plan Generations In The Making?

For ease of reference, exact wording for APGITM?

A Plan Generations In The Making wrote:Use this Stratagem just after your opponent has spent CPs to use a Stratagem, but before the effects of that Statagem are resolved

Well, okay, that’s the relevant bit anyway.

So far as I’m aware there’s nothing to stop it, but figured worth checking as I’ve quite possibly missed an FAQ or similar!

Yes, you can do that. A Plan can stop Vect in the same way Vect can stop any other stratagem.

Of course, the DE player can do it the other way around too

Wording is the same for Agents of Vect, word for word other than the faction Keyword used, just that Agents of Vect had the "can only be used if you have certain models" errata tacked on to stop any and all DE armies using it (told you so ).

While the other thread on the matter I concluded that it is unclear and several answers exist depending on what you define as truth, my personal opinion is that "after your opponent has spent CPs to use a Stratagem, but before the effects of that Stratagem are resolved" is, well, after the first player has used their nullification stratagem, but before it resolves, so they resolve in MtG stack like LIFO order.

e.g. You use Moar Dakka Extra Explosives. For some reason the Dark Eldar player really does not want this to happen, so he uses Agents of Vect. After he spends the CP for Agents of Vect "but before the effects of that Stratagem are resolved", you use A Plan Generations In the Making 2: Electric Boogaloo, which resolves before Agents of Vect, thus has the chance to negate it.
