Wow, a Dread with twin lascannon and missile launcher is only 125 pts.
Is this correct?
My battlescribe version tells that its 138 pts.

Oh, thank you. I got it.

I'd prefer venerable Dreads since if normal Dreads move, they hit only on 4+.

Why would Dreads move with 48" range weapons?

I think it's as solid as GK lists go. Unfortunately I do not think GK are really going to be competitive in any level until they get a lot of love from GW. Like a lot.

Indeed, I hope there is no blocking terrain so that the Dreads dont need to move.
On our tables we usually have some blocking terrain in the centre.

The dreads have GOI which means they can redeploy as needed,. Or they can use Astral Aim to not need LOS

Can you give your Dreads Gate of Infinity? then they could have a lot of mobility and overcome blocking terrain as needed

Indeed, two Dreads already have GoI.
But it can only be casted once per turn which is the downside of the usage of psychic powers.

Astral aim on the dreads is better IMO

This allows to place one Dread fully in cover without line of sight.

and if both have it then both can use it. they can fire from in cover out of LOS and still hit their targets with Lascannon D6 damage goodness

In your opinión, i must use 1 dread wish GOI and 2 wish AIM? I put 2 with GOI because i first turn i can use GOI with a GMDN

why do you want the dreadknights anywhere near the dreadnoughts?

Use GOI in turno 1. And play it agressive. I am a new playing GK so that tactic could be wrong

You're serious? No. Only viable list for Grey Knights is the one where you put the models on the shelf and take literally any other army.

Seems like an oxymoron.
Its clearly a challenge to play GK at a tourney.
I've seen too many players who hide behind their big guns and have no plan whatsoever to move their armies and accomplish objective goals.
GK is not an army for light-weight players.

The only way I see GK can be played with some reward is that you need to bring as many guns to bear in form of an alpha (1. turn) or beta (2. turn) strike.
A beta strike should be possible thanks to teleporters and deep striking.

No amount of tactics will make up for the obvious CP and points deficiency. GK aren't a "more difficult army" they are literally broken.

So.... ir i wish play competitive, i must put my GK in visto shelf and take my eldars??

If you wanted to be honest, you can be "Competitive" with:

Knights
AM
Eldar (All 3 types)
DW
Chaos
Soup
Ultramarines
Necrons
Orks
GSC

But sure, say the only way to be competitive is with Eldar. Every army above has won a tournament in the last 6 months.

IMO you should get a battalion or 2 of any space marines - generic and/or BA ,DA ,SW - and add a vanguard of GK and even then I don't think this is going to be considered competitive . GK are in a tough spot right now but as "allies" I think they can help a lot with a bit of smite spam , deny the witch, GOI shenanigans .

I used to play GK back in 6th with Inquisition but now I use them mostly for anti horde . I use a vanguard detachment with crowe (cheap enough and can kill those 30boys) a combat squad ed purifiers squad ( 6x falchions+ 4x incinerators in a rhino) and 1x ven dread with twin flamer + flamer with GOI . This is not really competitive but I love the models + it's like 470ish points of anti horde . Sometimes I also add a rifleman dread for ol' times sake

But eventually it's your decision if you WAAC or just play with your favourite models . I consider myself belonging to the later category as I join all the tournaments with the above GK detachment + a cc BT battalion + a DC BA battalion !! Fun times but not competitive at all

My advice is that you go get some fun . Cheers
