Hail warriors

I have included a list I hope is semi competitive (without new fandangeled jump troops, wulfen, twc or fliers since real wolves fight with their feet on the ground).

The battle plan is flexible but the main 2 strategies are:
1. If they get first turn, lots of powerful reserves or against melee armies Bubble grey hunters, intercessors, shield dread around the rune priest cover bubble, wolf priest. long fangs, bjorn and hell blasters. Then when their reserves arrive use chooser of the slain for some free shots.
After their reserves show up drop the blackmanes (blood claws, battle leader and Ragnar) drop pods in their backline, rear or where needed, Jarl Ragnar re roll charge bubble means a good chance a few blood claw units will make the charge on arrival and use the 3d6 charge range stratagem from the stalker formation and hopefully trigger his saga so the rest of the blood claws will have 5 attacks each with re roll hit and wound rolls of 1 and the +1 to wound rolls against tough targets like knights. Following up with a counter attack from the rest of the army (other than the longfangs) and terminator pl are potentially lone wolves.

2. For everyone else Similar to the first strategy but move up with the none drop troops, stormbolter rune priest, and longfangs bubble up the board talking objectives and laying the hurt then the blackmanes drop and assault where needed.

For either strategy I can also outflank other units as needed.

All Thoughts and opinions are welcome

Looks good to me but not sure about the drop pods. Too many expensive for what they do, especially when you can just cunning them but that would obviously cost command points. Wulfen are amazing and adding them to the blood claw/Ragnar horde would allow you to re-roll charges and then get the extra attack even if they are further than 3” away from the battle leader in this next turn. And I may have missed something but it looks like you’ve paid the command points for 3 relics and only have 2 in the list

Thank you for the reply
Yeah I normally use outflank but thought better to save the cp with drop pods. I could swap the pods and put in terminator wgpl instead and outflank but it would cost 5cp and only able to hit the sides so tough choice imho. Your thoughts?
Ragnar has a re roll charge bubble and wulfen would be nice but cost a lot of points and I’m poor.

Didn’t know Ragnar did that to be honest, never been tempted to use him. His effect is only 6” and the wulfen is 12” but you’re right they are expensive. But they seem to be one of the few really good space wolf units, they hit like a truck and the blood claws really support them well (all the wulfen abilities double their radius for blood claws).. For the cost of the two drop pods you can afford 80% of a wulfen unit. You could give the old guard battle leader a jump pack and save a command point there as you don’t have to outflank. I’d be tempted to replace ragnar with a jump pack wolf lord or wolf priest. The priest doesn’t hit as hard but he allows you to reroll all misses in combat, not just the ones and you can happily give him the armour of russ and the +1 attack warlord trait (if you can kill 5 cheap models, even th wulfen can get an extra attack). As you have wulfen, you don’t really need the wulfen stone and so you could save 3 command points by just having the one relic. You’re right about hitting the sides, you at limited by the within 6” of the board edge but all the times i’ve played it doesn’t feel like it made a big difference. Up to you of course but those are my 2 cents worth

I appreciate it a lot more that 2c

I do like wulfen but don’t have the models, money or stuff to convert them tbh and they can’t be used in pods and 5 cp is a lot to lose.
Also as much as it holds me back I am an old wolf and refuse to use jump packs, thunderwolves or teleporters as the wolves should be again before the wolf wolf wolfness started. Wulfen I like but Jarl Ragnar can fit in a pod.
Still I’m very tempted to swap the pods for terminator wgpl is the claws and outflank them which is a very underrated stratagem imho.
