Before the next update hits I want to know how everyone stacks up in regards to factions. Keep in mind I am talking PURELY from a tournament/competitive stand point.

Lets break this down into 5 tiers

Tier 1: Best faction(s) in the game
Tier 2: Able to beat Tier 1 sometimes and ROFLSTOMP most other factions
Tier 3: Solid faction that can compete with Tier 2 but has no chance against 1st tier factions. These would be the Gate keeper factions.
Tier 4: Ok armies, not really competitive but they can stand on their own against most of the game, albeit at a disadvantage.
Tier 5: Worst factions in the game, always at a distinct disadvantage in the tournament scene and are therefore rarely taken.

If you think it should be broken down another way feel free to tell me and i'll gladly change my OP if it makes sense

From a tournament standpoint armies are not codex but rather faction - Imperial, Chaos, Eldar, Nid/stealer, Tau, Ork, Necron.

Of those Eldar are generally considered the strongest followed by Imperial. Necrons are generally considered the weakest.

Some of the Imperial factions would struggle to get anywhere without allies. Grey Knights in particular are little represented in tournaments while Sisters are in transition and Inquisition are nowhere.
