Scratch what I said above, I ordered 1 Bastion + and 1 extra set of the base plates and parapets. So what I am now thinking of doing is making 2 mini-Bastions (just the base + parapets, removing the middle section with the HBs). And then I can assemble the middle section as a HB array for the center of the board (on top of a Know No Fear bunker for added height). Any other suggestions on how to assemble the parts so that I can maximize the terrain pieces? I really want 2 pieces to be the same for each DZ and at least 1 unique piece for the center. Could I squeeze more pieces out of what I have? Maybe take the rear 4th off each of the mini-bunkers (so that they are open in the back) and use the remain walls to make some mid-field LoS blocking walls? Any pictures would be great. This kit appears to be incredible modular, but Google is coming up a bit disappointing on the example front. All I can find is regular Bastion, mini-bunker, and combos of 3+ Bastions -

If you're not opposed to use something like that neat pink foam stuff, you can leave off one or two walls and make it look like the bunkers has been built into the side of a mountain. If I recall correctly, the bottom sections have separate corner pieces so not only do you get these and can make something out of them (like a plinth for a small statue or pillar), that will also make for an easy fit of the foam section since everything is level.
In the same way, if you are looking for a LOS blocker, you can use two sections back to back to build a wall that you can cap off at the ends with more foam, making a wall sealing off a passage between two rocks. If you have two bunkers and leave out two sides on each, you can have two of these or one long one.
I can't think of anything else right now. The Bastion kit is neat and has good potential if you source pieces outside the kit, but I wouldn't call it modular in the same way as Cities of Death buildings with their tile setup. It's cut too much to its original, blocky shape for that.

I did it albeit I turned them into Ork style stuff.
Effectively you can get two mini bunkers out of one kit
With some of the extra bits I kitbashed some bits n bobs too

Thanx, those look great! I'll be sticking a bit more closely to the imperial aesthetics, but I like the side by side of getting 2 "bunkers" out of 1 Bastion. I've been thinking of using some pink foam just to elevate the base about an inch or so higher so that each of my "bunkers" gets just that much more height without needing that middle section (with the HBs). But I'm going to build the bunkers first and see if I need to do that at all. I want these to block LoS to medium height units like Dreadnoughts and tanks, so I'll only need the added height if they don't block those. Knights and Flyers I am ok not blocking. I was thinking modular in that you could assemble the parapets, base and middle sections separately to mix and match. Also, I can have 1 wall section + corner left unglued from each bunker, but still able to seamlessly be added back. Both 'free' wall sections could interlock and make it look like 2 Bunkers with a 12" wall section between them. That's 24" of wall right there if we wanted to use that. -

So I just got the base pieces and parapets. It sadly doesn't look like I can make a "modular bunker" as easily as I wanted. I was going to leave 1 back section and corner detachable so that it could interlock in different ways for an open or closer Bunker. But there are a few little fiddly bits that are meant to overlap when built "correctly" that get in the way if I want to move 1 section to a different side. So instead, I'm just going to build 2 "bunkers" out of the top and bottom sections of the Bastion and add a 2" base make of foam board to extend the height. Should be tall enough to block LoS for anything short of an Armiger Knight (so most Dreads/Tanks/Monsters, etc) I also have 4 Munitorum Containers that fit really well right next to the Bunkers and can look like "exit corridiers" for the bunkers. This will futher add some Los blocking for Infantry Thanks for all feedback -
