He was always described as large, even for astartes standards. Some even went so far as to say he was Horus's son.

Add in some dark pacts with the Chaos gods, terminator armour and GW love for making everything supersized and that makes for a large sculpt.

He isn't as powerful as a primarch. That being said, having the gods protecting you and wielding a giant daemon sword will bump you up a notch.

He might be Horus' clone-son in some form. He might not be. We'll never know for certain. Power-wise he's close but probably not quite there.

So he is just simply just the leader of BLACK LEGION and that's it?

That's quite a bit! He's unique in that he bears the mark of every chaos God. Only person in the setting who does as far as I know. And he has been offered to become a Daemon Prince by every God, but has turned them all down because he knows that will make him a pawn of just that one God. He's the highest champion of Chaos Undivided, but isn't willing to bend the knee to them entirely. He's very unique in the lore.

Interesting. And i guess he bears all gods marks since BL is filled with different legions etc so that makes sense right?

He was space marine size before he even became a space marine. When he became a space marine he got even bigger.

Something like that.

He also is wearing a suit of terminator armor, while Gulliman is not. If I remember correctly from the novels, the Lunar Wolf terminators were described as being almost as tall as Horus.

Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.

He's a big boi. But yeah Abaddon was always described as being large; his size coupled with how he looked very much like Horus (which was a thing in the Sons of Horus) led to the rumors that he was really a clone-son of the Primarch.

Well yes, but actually no.

He's a de facto Primarch, IMO, but not de jure.

Not "technically" a Primarch, unless you believe the rumors that he is Horus's clone/son.
But given his naturally large size, combined with both Terminator Armour and Gifts of Chaos, it would actually be odd if he WASN'T as big as he is.

The fact that the model is sliiiightly smaller than Guilliman is probably the ideal height for hm.

He married the chaos gods to get it! I'm sure that pisses off all the de jure daemon primarchs.

Define Primarch?

Big Powerful and kill stuff easily, and well protected by Plot armor? Might as well be.

As for his model size, that’s just scale creep. His previous model was on a 25mm base.

It appears GW enjoys making “leader” models in an exaggerated scale so they can be centerpiece models - since you’re only likely to buy one of them anyways.

It never ends well

No that's just "regular" terminator armour:
As people have said before, it's a mix of being actually tall and also being the most decorated champion of chaos undivided.
Meaning he's numerous pacts with daemons for one and is receiving a fraction of power from the gods.

That and the warp/serving chaos has a way of infusing objects with some amount of power themselves. So given his illustrous career over the last then thousand years, it's safe to assume that's no ordinary armour anymore either.
The models is probably not far removed from his actual size (though why he's not wearing cataphractii armour god only knows).

The kit is amazing, it actually has his body and you literally encase it in armour. You can see he's not nearly as big as the armour suggests, but yea, he is not small.

Many Legionnaires were as tall as their Primarchs in the HH novels that is. Though there is a rumour about Abaddon being a clone all through the HH. GW seem to be making the Primarchs bigger in 40k, which I'm all for. Even for marines I always though 7-8 foot was too small for super-humans, I always see them as 9-10 foot in the HH lore. I mean there are basket ball players taller than your average marines lol Plus seeing scale is hard for such small mini's, to make them imposing you have to make them far bigger.

7-8 feet is fine for a super human. that's a head taller then a tall human. go look at pictures of actual 7 foot tall people, they're HUUGE. and then consider they're also very broad.

Not really, not at all if you think how strong and tough they are. They are tiny in comparison to their abilities and even expending with reality they are too small. I've always seen their size as being ridiculous for what they are capable of. In human terms that is, obviously other species in the galaxy could be made to be super strong and small etc. but they don't have the same physiology. Even with the Emperors knowledge of gene-tech physics is still physics.

From the lore, maybe.

One of the Geneseed curse for the Luna wolves was that many of the Luna wolves look exactly like Horus, not necessarily the same size. To the point that one of the Luna wolves was actually called little Horus because they looked exactly 100% like mini me Horus.

Some of the lore hints that Abaddon may be Horus not a clone but exactly horus, he may be the only clone of Horus the emperor's children made that the black legion took and let live, or he may just be a separate person.

He is not the same size as Horus. The clue is in the name, Little Horus.

His nickname comes from his facial resemblance to his Primarch, not his height.

Indeed, I believe he was shorter than the others in the Mournival too I think
