They are vents, but if your question is, can I model it with the vents for 40k but still have him count as having wings, the answer is yes.

Only the biggest TFG would make any big deal over that.

Dude, seriously. Don't make statements like that. Never go full Poe's law.

I think many people who have played for a long time prior to 7th ed. when WYSIWYG was a thing will raise a few eyebrows at it. We were brought up on WYSIWYG, you see one with big flappy wings on its back and one without and it is a reasonable assumption to make one does fly and the other does not. Now, I'd play against it myself but don't go throwing around TFG at people just because someone won't let you do something. That's not what being a TFG is, that just people being entitled. The term is so mutated now it's just not funny.

Now, if they have something similar in their list and didn't let you use it, then THAT is TFG behaviour.

I bet supressors give you guys fits

Not really, but they look utter gak when not on some kind of flight stand. Having their feet glued to their bases looks cack.

Ok so to update this thread, yesterday we played Tyranid 2000 pts vs GK's 2630pts.

Guess what?

Tyranid still won, although it was closer.

Dude...It has a freaking jetpack.

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

So long as there is some aspect of the model suggesting flight (the back pack jets will do, but more is clearer) and It is notably different to it pedestrian neighbor I would have no problem

Oh, so not wings then.

I am planning on having two in my army, but I wanted to model them as differently as possible for variation, ideally both having wings though.

Guess you cant have the best of both.

Given all the winged models that GW has produced over the years (+ infinitely more if you don't restrict yourself to GW sources), if you can't find two different sets of wings to mod your demon princes? Then you don't deserve to have flying models.

Some people would rather their models look natural if theyre not great at conversions. Id rather have a model without wings than whose kit bashed wings are litteraly just glued on, Removed, Rule #1 please
