Currently im looking at Ironjawz because they look cool and seem to have a low model count that i want (i play GSC in 40K, so no more horde armies).
1D4Chan recommends two lists for starting up at 1000 pts, which on would be better or are they viable?
Anything i should know about Ironjawz (a new book, overhaul of rules coming or smth like that)?.

Spoiler:
You can easily build off the Start Collecting box by adding a Megaboss, a Brute squad and a Weirdnob shaman. This gives you a solid army that rounds off at 1000 points exactly:

Megaboss
Warchanter
Weirdnob shaman
10 Ardboyz
3 Gore gruntas
5 Brutes
Ironfist battalion
Alternatively, you can start with 2 Start Collecting box and add a Megaboss, coming also at 1000 points but not using the second Warchanter:

Megaboss
Warchanter
20 Ardboyz (or 2 units of 10, however you like it)
3 Gore gruntas
3 Gore gruntas
Ironfist battalion

The Grand Alliance Destruction only has one 2.0 Batteltome - Gloomspite Gitz - so yes the Ironjawz are going to get a new Tome "at some point".

That release is almost certain to come with a terrain feature and at least 3 faction Endless Spells. Now there is no idea when that Tome release is going to come, however with sylvanath in the waiting and with Warcry this Summer (which is likely to coincide with a Slaves to Darkness tome) its likely that you might be looking to August and beyond for a new tome.

There is also a possibility that GW might merge them and Bonesplitters into a single Tome; if that were done chances are the Tome would allow for a pure Ironjawz army to be taken within it. However at this stage we've had no official news so its impossible to guess - they could well get their own dedicated tome.

Note that new models is also impossible to guess, some armies have had LOTS like Gloomspite; some have had some like Slaanesh; most get only 1 often sold in a duel army pack with another army for a while and some have had no new models what so ever. GW imports all the tomes, terrain and spells from overseas; but their domestic model production has limits and they can't just upscale it so some armies are getting short straws and going smaller; others are getting updates.
Note that even the small forces are doing really well (in fact some like Daughters of Khaine and Flesheaters are doing really really well).

So in general I would focus on collecting an army more so than building a massive functional force since the balance is likely to change. Start collecting boxed sets are a great place to begin.

Until they get an actual 2.0 book, they will be a challenge to play.

You think Greenskinz will be lumped in as well? I started AoS with Greenskinz but went over to Ironjawz, still would like to see Greenskinz get the love they deserve.
