Every time I open it, it needs to update. Is there a fix for this?

Maybe. I haven't tried that yet.

Also, just to be clear (since I don't think it is in the OP) I am updating it each time. It just requires an update every stinking time.

I can guarantee that uninstalling - and not reinstalling - will stop the update problem

Helpful.

I would like to be able to USE Battlescribe. (I know, codex is better. But I'm often AFB and sometimes I want to investigate Codecs I don't own.)

Interesting.

When you update, are you sure you have it installed correctly?

For example, you have it installed in one location, upgrade but install it to a different location, then run the original short cut?

That might be it. Let me see if that'll help.

Also codexes are NOT better. At this point i dont think there is a single codex that is acurate.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

I second the uninstall/reinstall approach. I had the same problem, it turned out that when I upgraded from 2.01 to 2.02 something went funny and the executable for both still existed but the shortcut pointed to the old version - so every time I'd launch it 2.01 would open and prompt for upgrade.

I updated the shortcut filepath to the new version but each time the new version updated (which is pretty frequently with minor bug fixes and tweaks) it reset the filepath back to the old version.

I totally uninstalled Battlescribe and re-installed it and after that I haven't had any issues.

I did the same thing on both computers I have it on. Worked on both.

This is probably the answer you are looking for OP. I had to do this too. Check where your shortcut is going and where the install is going.

Yeah, I uninstalled and reinstalled it.

So far, so good.

Thank you all for help!
