I'd like to add some Eldar units to my DE army but I'd like to keep to the Dark Eldar aesthetic as much as possible.

Hence, I'm looking to create some Dark Reapers from primarily DE parts. I can probably find some suitable heads without much issue but I'm unsure of how to create a suitably reaper-ish missile launcher for them.

Any ideas?

I actually have these! I got some reaper launchers off shapeways, snipped off the head
and used some DE heavy weapons I found at bitz sites and used them on DE Warrior bodies, and I got Dark Elf heads to put on them for a different look. I will snap a pic if you want. Not painted yet.

Maybe do something with the missiles from the voidraven/razorwing aircraft.
There are some decent spikey missiles they shouldn't take too much effort to make them look more like launchers.

Out of interest, hideous paint-jobs notwithstanding, would you accept these as Dark Reapers:

I actually find using DE guns to be the perfect way to make CWE Dark Reapers since GW doesn't make/sell Dark Reapers anymore.
Get Guardians or Dire Avengers and give them Disintegrators, for example.

I'm sure you could do the same with Kabalites, maybe with CWE Missiles. Or Bright lances with the barrel cut down and tapered like a tiny missle
These are my Autarchs with Reaper Launchers. The middle bike has the ML from the WW/WL/Gaurdian kits, while the outer bike have the MLs from the Serpent/Vyper kit, which are slightly smaller

I'd rather fight some DE painted in Reaper colors than that.

Why do you need Reapers anyway? DE have enough awesome guns to do what they do.

I think pretty much any Eldar player will sell you all the EMLs from everything like Serpents or WWs, because we don't use EMLs for at least 10 years due to either price or because other stuff does the job better. They are huge though.

GW doesn't make/sell Dark Reapers anymore

No, those are clearly Immortals. The guns might work on a Kabalite body, but they really need to not look so much like Necrons

GW stop selling metal models years ago and haven't released plastic equivalents for ANY of the Aspects besides Dire Avengers. There isn't a single* Aspect warrior kit listed on the GW website.

Ah I see.

I'm somewhat butthurt over Finecast but modern Finecast, aside from terrific amount of extra junk you have to cut away from it and bent weapons (normal for resin, solved with hot water) is not as bad as people think, and does have sharper detail than metal (but only slightly).

If you can buy it where you can also open it and return it no big deal. For me, for example, 70% or more of many armies is basically Direct-only and I still have some Finecast.

Each to their own but starting every DE list with 3 Ravagers never really appealed to me.

Yeah, the size aspect is why I'm a bit wary of just trying to get Eldar missile launchers, as most of the ones available seem to be vehicle ones.

But Ravagers are awesome. And there are flyers too. As Craftworlds player I am really jealous of light vehicles with Assault heavy weapons. (And of Void Raven, which is the most beautiful plastic flyer in the game imo)

I'd stick to elf models. Maybe Scourges without wings or something. You can also try alternatives. Artel W has Reapers, although their guns look meh. For most other Aspects there are multiple alternatives out there, not for Reapers though. Maybe put some alternative heads on DE bodies and fiddle with the guns.

They are 2, if not 3 times the size of Reaper launchers, and then add some extra for Reapers being old models and DE being newer slick ones.

However, Reaper launcher itself can be used easily separately from Reaper model on any other if you can put hands right.

Finally there's Reaper launcher in old Autarch on foot kit. Might be some around yet.

I didn't say Ravagers weren't good. I just hate spamming them. Especially in friendly games.

Well, the ones above *were* elf models (Kabalite Warriors to be precise), just with their guns and heads swapped out.

Okay, I'll have another look in my spare bits boxes and see what else I can come up with.

Out of interest, what alternatives are there for Striking Scorpions?

I prefer not using metal if at all possible, so I'll leave buying actual reaper launchers as a last resort.

I'll see what else I can find first. Might post some more options here.

I'd say the closest would be Incubi with guns - not like DE have much use for them anyway afaik. They are also Finecast though.

Hmm, now that's an idea. I'm thinking they'd need head-swaps as well (something more skull-like), which would have the side benefit of giving me some spare Incubi heads to play with.

And Finecast is okay.

I think Incubi heads look scary enough, but I guess if you swap them for heads like say these,

Funnily enough, those were the exact heads that came to mind.

I love the Incubi heads, I just wasn't sure they'd be right for Dark Reapers.

I saw someone a long time ago (don't have the pic anymore on hand) that used WHFB Executioners and gave them CWE Missile Launchers (the vehicule ones) which when you look at it look like rather large reaper launchers. Add some DE bits, like spikes and a bayonet and I would say you are good to go.
