Fairly solid just a couple of changes I would make.

1) Give your relic to a different tank commander so you're not losing everything when he gets shot down, which will generally be quickly as he's targetable and gives you the most.

2) I think mortars work best hidden out of LoS in heavy weapons teams. You should just have guardsmen and a couple of hwt. Then you can move, grab objectives and fire at full BS with mortars.

3) Relic hammer should also go on second smash captain, it makes him much more reliable. It's worth the 2CP.

4) make 3x battalions with rangers in ad mech detachment. Just loose some guardsmen to fit it in. 4 extra CP and they generally preform well for their points. You could even take arqubuses for extra sniper support.

My initial list had the extra battalion but I wanted to limit easy small kill units and maximize potential to kill knights.

For the relics I agree moving the one I better to make two good targets rather than one. For the BA hammer and defiant tank company I was going to base that in my opponents list. No need to spend CP if it's not absolutely essential from the get go like the wings are
