Speaking to my local GW manager, there’s a limited run now that every store can get, then she’ll disappear for a bit until the plastic sisters come out. Apparently the plan for plastic sisters release is still September/October, but obviously is subject to any delays.

First time going to a GW on Warhammer Day....man GW needs a store policy about hygiene. Good gods, nothing is worse that a small store filled with unwashed nerds.

Managers do have the, struggling for the right word here, perhaps blessing/agreement/encouragement from Head Office to hoof stinky people out.

At least, they did 10 or so years ago when I last worked for GW. And yes, I did exercise that. It’s awkward of course, but better than potentially losing sales because Wee Jock McPlop, with his Week Old Undies is reeking the place out with his, uhhhh.....rather vibrant bocquet?

Do we have to go into this again? Nine times out of ten what you're smelling there is called "lots of young people packed into a small space in summer", and it's the same reek you'll find anywhere that qualifies for that description. I think I saw an actual genuine No Hygiene Guy like, three times in the course of the twenty or so years I frequented actual stores for gaming.

I'd say if GW want folk to stop complaining about smelly stores, they would be better served paying for reasonably sized venues and proper air conditioning than coming up with specific policies to address rare fringe cases.

Nah frendo. There wasn't a single person in the store I was in under 20 other than the ones who had kids of their own and those were too small to smell like adult B.O. It was straight up good old fashioned bad hygiene.

....in fact I rarely see actual teens in my local GW.

Also I wasn't born an adult lol. I know what teens smell like and its not hot armpit regardless of season unless they have bad hygiene.

This last bit is why the point keeps needing to be argued - you didn't have a clue what you smelt like when you were a teenager, it was very probably "hot armpit" on several occasions, and that's entirely normal as a study on the matter has suggested 12-18 year olds are less capable of recognising certain smells, like sweat and cigarette smoke.

Regardless, even if older people can tell when they have BO, it's also not that easy to avoid when lots of people spend several hours in a hot, confined space with IME almost certainly inadequate aircon; deoderant can only cope with so much.

The thing that annoys me about the subject is people keep talking about the IME extremely rare Actual Stinkbeast type character when the vast majority of the time what they're referencing is just the unavoidable result of the situation, and so they perpetuate a nonsense stereotype.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Choice of clothes doesn't help.

Football shirts can end up honing quite a bit on a hot day. By the end of a Summer's day sci-fi convention at the hotel my wife worked at, the air was quite hostile as a result of polyester Star Fleet uniforms.

Plus some people don't realise they/ their clothing smells. As a non-smoking teenager living with smoking parents, I had no idea how much cigarettes made your clothes stink until after I moved out to a non-smoking house.

I despise the eyes on the Funko Pop models so I took the liberty of editing them to see if they could be improved. The mocked up result is probably achievable with green stuff or your modelling putty of choice. I fully overlapped the lens so that if you wanted to attempt this yourself you'd only need to paint over the new lens, rather than trying to get a colour match if you're fixing an already painted model.

I think they go from looking rather derpy to rather good by just changing eyes/lenses. I note the original concepts did not use the god awful button eyes before they were changed. A pity.

Can one just Chaos Black Spray the normal Funkos and paint over them?

I don't see why not. Some folks mod them anyway. The eyes and the fact I can paint over the standard one is why I didn't bother buying the DIY model.
