Hi everyone!

Here's a strange noob question about the Pile In. That question aroused when we had an argument with my friend.

Let's say there are ten ork boyz and a chaos lord. The first boy is in a base contact with the chaos lord. The other nine are not. It is also my turn now to do the Pile In. Is it true that I can't move the other 9 boyz closer to the lord because of the 1st one being already maximally close to the chaos lord?

Thank you for considering my request)

Models can pile in, but they need to end their move closer to the nearest enemy model.

The model in base contact can not pile in because it can not end its move closer to the nearest enemy model, but the rest can pile in.

Note that this is done on a model to model basis, and the nearest enemy model doesnt have to be the lord. Also, when piling in, your unit must remain in coherency.

Thats why you never go in base contact when you make your charge move.

To clarify this last point. If you end your charge move .9 inches away from the enemy you are allowed to make a pile in move that is up to 3" but must END closer than where it started. Typically that means you can move around to its back, making room for more of your guys to get in, and ending in base contact, or even .8 inches away.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.
