Hello,
What I'm currently trying to build is a rather spiritual
IG tallarn/tribal army whose driving force is their deep believe in the sky father. Therefore I wanted to include some ministorum priests and Crusaders. Since the aestetic style of my regiment is planed to be a mix of arabic and tribal african, I was thinking about not using the standard
GW crusaders but using some proxies that better fit this look. Yet I want to stay within the fluff. Therefore I have some background questions for the more experienced community:
1. I read in the online wiki, that "most" of the Crusaders accompanying Ministorum priests are recruited from the Schola Progenium. Therefore I assume, that the existence of crusaders of an indigenious tribal origin would be in compliance with the canon?
2. Is there any background information regarding the origin of the powers of fate? Would it be within the canon that members of an indigenious tribal spiritual warrior caste express those powers under the leadership of a ministorum priest? Or is this some weird tech-based effect implanted in the Schola Progenium? (I seriously don't know, since I'm new to
WH 40k)
3. Do I understand correctly, that the defence granted by the stormshields wielded by the crusaders is a tech based effect? In other words: would it be acceptable to use a miniature that is lightly armoured at best but wearing a sufficiently large shield with some tech-stuff hanging around? I thought about something in this direction whith larger shields:

4. Are power weapons "expensive high tech" or would it be ok fluff-wise, that sufficiently talented tribal Soldiers get handed out power Lances/swords instead of lasguns? Especially if they, depending on the answer to question 2. , express powers of fate and are working for the Adeptus Ministorum?
5. In your experience: how important is "What you see is what you get" if you are playing against other players in Games Shops? Would it be a big problem to include these "tribal Crusaders" maybe even wearing power spears instead of swords as Long as they are clearly distinguishable from the normal guardsmen and I use the standard datasheet?
