Slaanesh was captured because he/she had dined some much on souls during the End Times that I think it was easy for him/her to be locked up. As to Chaos in Fantasy/AOS and 40K, I doubt that there is two Khornes, two Nurgles, etc. There have been hints of other realms, such as the fluff about the Blue Scribes having to travel across many different dimensions to find all of the knowledge that Tzeentch lost when the other gods cast him down from being supreme among them.

That's exactly my problem with him. At least Malal has a unique domain. The Horned Rat's entire schtick falls into other gods' territories. He works as a race specific god, but the Chaos gods are emotion based. The Horned Rat doesn't represent a unique set of emotions. Everything about him is already covered by Nurgle and Tzeentch.

I feel that way about Malal and Khorne.

Either they're separate or that's incredibly stupid. Eating souls make Slaanesh stronger. It's like saying that because a person became a Space Marine in power armour they were suddenly easier to handcuff.

energy overload?

But then the process by which Slaanesh becomes stronger isn't really defined either. there's nothing saying (to my knowledge at least ) that slaanesh post meal sleepiness wouldn't have worn off eventually and she wax great and powerful

Slaanesh was glutted out and and sleepy (like the afternoon of Christmas day ) I think there is mention that Archaon has destroyed many worlds as the Everchosen since the End Times which suggests that the Chaos gods do exist in many dimensions or whatever you want to call it in AoS at least.

However I think you are correct, these days 40k is a separate property entirely with no crossover. No source or anything, just the vibe I get and there is too much that doesn't really add up.

Edit - just to add, excellent video OP. Love looking into the history of GW. If I were a rich man I'd be buying so many of the old books.

"The best way to lie is to tell the truth." Attelus Kaltos.
My story! Secret War
After his organisation is hired to hunt down an influential gang leader on the Hive world, Omnartus. Attelus Kaltos is embroiled deeper into the complex world of the Assassin. This is the job which will change him, for better or for worse. Forevermore. Chapter 1.

The Angaran Chronicles: Hamar Noir. After coming back from a dangerous mission which left his friend and partner, the werewolf: Emilia in a coma. Anargrin is sent on another mission: to hunt down a rogue vampire. A rogue vampire with no consistent modus operandi and who is exceedingly good at hiding its tracks. So much so even the veteran Anargrin is forced into desperate speculation. But worst of all: drive him into desperate measures. Measures which drives Anargrin to wonder; does the ends, justify the means?
