Possessed Khorne Marine Covered in Spikes

Hello,

I wanted to buy 10 Chaos Space Marines for Kill Teams and ended up buying Shadowspear with the plan to sell the space marines, etc. I'm looking for some advice regarding how to equip these guys, specifically the venomcrawler. I have no idea what this thing is!

On the one hand, I might simply sell it. On the other, I'd like to know how to equip it assuming there are good and bad options. Any/all advice would be useful as I haven't played in about a year. I don't really have a plan. I think I'm going to build a CSM champion (power fist, perhaps), one of each special/heavy weapon (within limits, I might buy a havoc box to add heavy weapons if I must), some bolter guys, and some chainsword guys.

I may or may not end up bulking up this force to about 1,000 points in addition to having the kill teams options within the greater force. I'm unsure, it all depends on how much better kill teams ends up being.

Btw, I do have bloodletters, horrors, a rhino, demon prince, raptors, terminators, etc sitting in a box.

The Venomcrawler has a single profile with no options. It's not terribly good, it's not terribly bad. Its main gimmick is buffing summoning rolls for the Master of Possession who came with Shadowspear.

That might work well with the Daemons you have sitting around.

Yeah, when I opened up the book I noticed that it was dummy-proof. I've always wanted to play a Word Bearers force, but it never seemed worth while. I wonder if the venomcrawler and master of possession would work well to create such a list.

Can I keep my army undivided so that I can summon any of the chaos demons or will I be forced to choose? I'd really like to be able to buy a box of each of the lesser demons. I think that'd be lovely.

Chaos Marines are more about Legions than gods, aside from the 4 legions devoted to specific gods of course. It's pretty easy to keep Word Bearers undivided basically, or at least have a mix of all the different marks.

I think I'll run Word Bearer's colors/theme using Black or Alpha legion traits and keep everything unmarked except dedicated units (ex. berzerkers).
