I know the two chapters hate each other (even if it is for petty reasons). But, would they ever fight alongside each other? Like, from a fluff point of view, is there a possibility that you'd see them fighting side by side in an Apocalypse game? Or would they just simply refuse to fight together?

yes they do - in fact they have rituals for when they do - basically a champion for each has a ritual combat to renact the fight between their Primarchs.

They may hate each other, but they're both loyalist. If a threat to the Imperium came around that required them combining their different tactics and strategies, I'm sure that they would team up in a heartbeat.

If they were real, no one would care about the childish fight between their 2 COs. They would probably laugh about it.

I think they probably would have beers together after their Champions fight and they stomp some xenon scum.

Settling these kinds of disputes was one of the original reasons for the creation of chaplains during the Great Crusade. The first person to respond above was right. The chaplains get between their commanders and find a solution, usually champions who battle. Most of the time to the death. There have been occasions where the chaplains weren't able to stop the dispute from becoming a real fight. That's rare, but the IoM is a large and diverse nation. What's a little fratricide in the family going to hurt?

The old feud isn't full-on hatred anymore, it's more a kind of ritualistic competition. They'll usually stage a fight between champions to honor their Primarchs, then it's back to business.

So yes, they'd team up in a heartbeat. What better way to outdo the other and show who's better (this time).

yeah my read is it's more of a rivalry then a hatred, though you do sometimes get the odd incident

Ah, the internet, where the only two options are "love" and "hate". They don't hate each other; they have a rivalry that's evolved into a ritual over the millennia, that's all. Any actual animosity was dealt with by the time the two Primarchs had finished their duel.
