Hey,
i just saw that the new Keeper of Secrets got/ will get a new data Sheet.
KoS With Whip: 240
KoS With Knife: 240
KoS With Aegis: 230
KoS With Hand: 240
Shalaxi with Whip 260
Shalaxi with Aegis 270
I wanted to Pick your brains: Do you think it will be a viable, compered to the old one?
I feel like it is still to expensive for competitive Play. I fear it just wont make back its Points.
But mabe you con run them in more cesual games without feeling like you wasted Points.
Cheers=)

I think they're definitely more viable but you need to run them with other stuff that will draw your opponents anti tank fire. If you run one in a list with 90 deamonettes and some daemon princes, she/he'll not make it. If you run 3 or lots of ither big threats then they're much more worthwhile.

This has been out for awhile. Its no more playable as before since its point cost went way up but it still has a crappy save value and is an easy target. They are fun in friendly games, that's about it.

How did the guy that had a bunch of KoS's get Death Guard elites in an Alpha Legion detachment? I am assuming he wasn't dumb enough to try and cheat in such a painfully obvious manner so I'm guessing it's me missing something.

Wasnt there so I can't say, but that may simply be shorthand for the units in the detachment with <Legion> keyword being Alpha Legion (Enabling warlord trait, stratagem, but not granting detachment bonus).

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"
"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"
"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!" |

No the list is illegal. I didn't notice before posting it. The Detachment would have to be a nurgle Detachment because it contains Daemons and Heretic Astartes, but the HQ was Khorne. The only shared faction keyword is chaos. I don't think that changes a lot, it still seems KoS is a good choice, at least not absolute bottom tier trash. But who knows, maybe the old one wasn't either after it got buffed.

If i remember when it happened, someone from the event said it was uploaded wrong, i believe the correct list might still be on reddit from when it was first posted some odd weeks ago. But the point of it, with 4 KoS and 3 Lord D's all slaanesh (I believe thats run and charge) you have 1 turn to kill at least 1/2 of it or you are screwed. With Fight first, can't fall back, 6" Heroics, with good placement they can easily kill 2-3 units in melee a game turn. Also remember all the Slaanesh HQ's are Psyker too. I was literally looking at doing the same style list as i love those 2 models (Lord D and KoS), i also have AoS so the KoS would work for both. But i was going to just flood the table with lots of cheap bodies with both being Battalions, yeah Daemonettes are 6pts each, but thats good enough for me.

Heretic Astartes can be used for the CL, DG etc? The list I'm looking at has a supreme command alpha disco, a slaanesh supreme command and a Vanguard(?) heretic astartes (with no legion trait)...
But a P.S. to this is to be wary of using these models in competitive. This reminds me when Joshua Death got 9th at last year LVO with a daemon summoning list - suddenly everyone wanted to run a summoning list... yet if you look at 'nearly' all of the daemon lists after that which are top4 etc. - none of them use this mechanic as a lynchpin.
