So I use XV 9s for my crisis suits. I like the look better, I like the possibility better, I like the size better. I have heard this isn't unheard of before so I do it.

And then recently I managed to get my hands on a few of the Broadside upgrade kits used to upgrade a crisis suit into a broadside back in the day. And I always liked that look better than the current broadside. But now the XV-8s are so small and weedy compared to my crisis suits. Nothing to do but convert some XV 9s into broadsides then!

Here is the plan.

I will make use of the upgrade bits for under arm rail guns. I will use the upgrade kit feet (cause the little anchors on them are a nice touch). And I will make use of the back vents. Which means I need the standard crisis suit back vents. Which is fine because I need to bulk up and build out the body anyway to make it stand out from a standard xv9.

I want those crisis shoulder pads for the same reason. So here come the crisis arms. Also they take less work to modify to fit the guns onto. Grab some missile pods from some kit (honestly can't remember where I got them from).

I had to cut off all the back vents on the shoulder bits for the XV 9 so I could attach the crisis vents. That disk with a little bit sticking off is what I am left with.

Nicely done me! Now I just gotta make 1 more.

Now I just gotta prime and paint it! Maybe tonight. Probably tomorrow.

Very nostalgic, I remember doing this with the old broadside kit. The forgeworld model certainly adds a sleek new look to the idea.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

Thanks!

Yeah, i generally went as Bork'an who are supposed to have the bleeding edge tech. So i felt it made sense in my head fluff to have an experimental upgraded chasis for the broadside that just hasnt seen wide release yet.

And if the xv8 crisis was the basis for the xv 88 broadside with the hazard xv9 being an experimental upgrade to the xv8 then it made sense to build a xv 98 loadout.

A fusillade is a "a series of shots fired or missiles thrown all at the same time or in quick succession." So i thought it made good sense as the name for the new mark of broadside.

That looks awesome. but the idea of cutting up a forgeworld model makes my wallet cringe.

I get lucky with ebay every once in awhile. I managed to get a few sets of them a year or 2 ago for not too much and have had a few sitting around unbuilt for a bit.

If ordered from forgeworld i would agree.
