So with Marneus Calgar having led the way and now Kor'sarro Khan and Tigurius following suit, who(if any) do you think the other Chapters will get? What are you hoping they have done with them?

For myself:
-Lysander for Imperial Fists, in Gravis Armor with a big ol' shield and hammer--plus a shoulder mounted grenade launcher.
-Pedro Kantor for the Crimson Fists. Not sure how I'd outfit him to be honest--but for sure a powerfist should be present!
-Grimaldus and Helbrecht would have to happen for the Black Templars. They'd just have to. I'm expecting the Emperor's Champion to make an appearance as a Stratagem option for the Black Templars and parts to be in the Black Templars upgrade set.
-Vulkan He'stan for the Salamanders, in Gravis with a Flamestorm Gauntlet and his spear.
-Shrike in Phobos Armor with a camo cloak and a Bolt Sniper Rifle(which is fluffily enough, the Shrike Pattern) or an Instigator Bolt Carbine.

Onto the non-Codex Chapters!
-Ragnar Blackmane, in Phobos Armor with a pair of wolves accompanying him.


What are you wanting/hoping for?

It won't happen, but I want Thulsa Kane of the Executioners and Malakim Phoros of the Lamenters.

Pedro should have a Mk6 helmet, plasma/powerfists and an ork head in his hand!
I'd be keen to see what they do with the Dark Angels.

I wonder if anyone will fail the upgrade and end up in a Dreadnought or similar?

I actually think they might be with each of the supplements.

There really should be some casualties, it's supposed to be a risky proposition.
I could see a Dreadnought vulkan and a new tushan chapter master for the salamanders.

I wanna see marneus calgar get it again. Imagine a primaris primaris calgar, now even bigger and better!

Pedro Kantor can be basically the same as his existing model, but in Tacticus Armor. Same Dorn's Arrow, same Power Fist. Possibly even keep the back banner like they did with Tigurius.

Since the Emperor's Champion is a nameless schmoe, I could see that being the Black Templars model. That way GW can keep Helbrecht and Grimaldus in production. Plus the EC is pretty much in basic BT armor, so he exemplifies them better than Helbrecht in gold and Grimmy with his big tabard.

I do think that Shrike should probably still be with a jump pack. Probably Omnis-pattern armor. Give him a smoke launcher on his back instead of on his gun.

I really hope they redo Dante (in Omnis-pattern armor) and Azrael (in Gravis armor with a plasma pistol) as well.

We've been over this, but we really don't need him with a jump pack.

It's annoying that Shrike with Jump Pack has somehow become 'emblematic' of the Raven Guard's character design space, with people thinking that the jump pack was the important part. The important part was the follow-up attack when the enemy wasn't expecting it.

It was nice to see them finally acknowledging this is their method of war yesterday:

I agree that the possibility is there for a Shooty Shrike, I just think they are probably going to jump pack.

Here's the thing so far all the characters have their original weapons, or at least their iconic weapons. Calgar did lose his relic blade but his gauntlets aren't unwieldy anymore so it's kinda moot. I expect Shrike to still have claws. That being said I think a white scars Chapter master is in the works since korsarro khan is only a captain. And I think if the new iron hands tech marine is a chapter master white scars will be the only guys without a named chapter master

But why? The whole point of him having the jump pack was because the people writing the books beforehand literally shoehorned Jump Pack stuff into their Chapter Tactics. The fluff for him was written around that.

It's not there anymore. Nor are the units that exist now for Primaris Jump Pack infantry Assault oriented, which was the whole reason you saw Shrike getting shown off the way he was( at the head of a bunch of Vanguard Veterans with twin Lightning Claws and Assault Marines) last edition.

The model's going to stick around, likely as a Shadow Captain with Jump Pack option in the supplement like the Khan on Bike option we know the White Scars are getting. But like Khan, it's more likely that Shrike will be grounded.

I don't. We haven't seen claws on any Primaris stuff.

At most, I'm thinking he'd get Grav Chute Deployment.

I agree all the 'Chapter masters/Captians' like Vulkan, Pedro, Shrike, Lysander, Helbrecht are very likely to "cross the Rubicon Primaris" and will very likely get a model released along side their supplement (just like Tiggy & Khan)

This is also the reason I fully believe BAs/DAs/SWs will eventually get a supplement upgrade down the line. They share enough units with the vanilla Marines (yes, even SWs) that a supplement could very easily cover the unique stuff (again, yes even SWs). But most importantly, it makes sense to release these to coincide with updated models for Dante, Azreal & Grimnar.

I'm fairly confident (or at least would be disappointed if GW doesn't do it this way) that once the 6 supplements teased are all released, BAs & DAs will get a joint release with their supplements & Characters and SWs will get their own splash release even later than that. SWs are the only Chapter I can see them not doing a supplement because of this. We all know GW often changes formats before "completing" something, so they may change this supplement format before getting to SWs.

Point of contention: Vulkan He'stan is not a Captain. He is the Forgefather, something completely different. He WAS a Captain(4th Company) at one point though.

I bet we don't get a new Grimnar model. His is too new (2014?). Ragnar is the obvious choice as he is still using a *Second Edition* model.

If they make Helbrecht Primaris, it'd be funny if Immotekh cut his hand off again

I just want more gear options on generic characters.

That would certainly make sense. I think it is probably going to be between Ragnar and Arjac. Lukas won't sit and Krom's model is fairly new too.

That would be cool. There's already Carab Culln the Risen for the Red Scorpions (but he was beaten to pulp by the Great Beast of Sarum, rather than failing his 'upgrade').

Secondus marines with bloody 60" range bolters and 3W

Guilliman returns the favour to Yvrainne and does a Primaris on Iyanna Arianel who has become a Ynnari.

After this, she returns to the craftworld and visits the Aspect shrines and meets Karandras, who finds out the secrets.

From this, he calls forth the Exarch armour and imbues their spirit stones with the knowledge. Once this is done, they grow to several times their size, now fitting on a 32mm base (Karandras is da big boss, so he goes on a 40mm base). He shares this with the other Phoenix Lords who spread this new power among the shrines.

This paves the way for new Aspect Primaris squads, consisting of now huge Eldar who can psychically make themselves bigger, and go on 32mm bases and a new line of models for GW to make so people can't use their old Aspect Warriors.

Tune in next week to find out how the Orks managed to get the secret of Primaris for their model expansion.

This is what I was talking about earlier with regards to Shrike. The units that they went with just aren't Primarised for them to really 'go' with.

I'm all for a new Dante, but Mephiston is the BA I'd really like to see upgraded. His current model looks small even in the stock photography. Maybe Dante in a flying Dread? (I don't even really want that, but it's junt bananas enough I could see it.)
