Sergeant Naaman, arisen from the grave, fitted in Phobos pattern armor leading a squad of Infiltrators.

I'd go full Primaris if this happens.

I mean, it's right there on his armor.

That's a pretty big clue... (or the painter has just misspelled Ferrus )

I think at this point, I wish they would complete the Jump. Cato, Telion, Cassius et all for the Ultras.

Everyone is Primarisized or died in the attempt.

Maybe, if they release Primaris Bikers?

This is what I was talking about earlier with regards to Shrike. The units that they went with just aren't Primarised for them to really 'go' with.

It said in one of the articles that the white scar supplement will include rules for him on a bike. The only problem with that is that it could be pre-primaris bike rules.

I think they'll wait on some supplements till the characters and/or units are ready that would suit them. I'm genuinely amazed a jump pack close combat primaries until has not been released still, so I think Dante will not happen till than at least.

This is all assuming the policy of not making rules for units that do not have models yet is still upheld... It may not be?

they said the supplement will include rules for A Khan on a bike, not Korsoro Khan on a bike

I agree all the 'Chapter masters/Captians' like Vulkan, Pedro, Shrike, Lysander, Helbrecht are very likely to "cross the Rubicon Primaris" and will very likely get a model released along side their supplement (just like Tiggy & Khan)

This is also the reason I fully believe BAs/DAs/SWs will eventually get a supplement upgrade down the line. They share enough units with the vanilla Marines (yes, even SWs) that a supplement could very easily cover the unique stuff (again, yes even SWs). But most importantly, it makes sense to release these to coincide with updated models for Dante, Azreal & Grimnar.

I'm fairly confident (or at least would be disappointed if GW doesn't do it this way) that once the 6 supplements teased are all released, BAs & DAs will get a joint release with their supplements & Characters and SWs will get their own splash release even later than that. SWs are the only Chapter I can see them not doing a supplement because of this. We all know GW often changes formats before "completing" something, so they may change this supplement format before getting to SWs.

they won't get a supplement, GW'll just issue a 2.0 of the BA, SW and DA codices.

Vulkan He'stan is the Forgefather(spiritual leader/searching for artefacts of Vulkan), Tu'shan is the current chapter master. I'd be down for a couple of casualties/internment in dread. They just have to be careful in how they do it and make the "replacement" fit lore/tabletop/etc.

Across the Rubicon

I would like new space marine heroes. I don't really care from which faction or what kind of marine they are just new guys. I mean GW doesn't have to go all Transformers: The Movie on the old ones. But surely there were a couple of new heroes from the Indomitus Crusade that accomplished something equal to the heroes we all know from the last few decades that 40k has existed right?

So with Marneus Calgar having led the way and now Kor'sarro Khan and Tigurius following suit, who(if any) do you think the other Chapters will get? What are you hoping they have done with them?

For myself:
-Lysander for Imperial Fists, in Gravis Armor with a big ol' shield and hammer--plus a shoulder mounted grenade launcher.
-Pedro Kantor for the Crimson Fists. Not sure how I'd outfit him to be honest--but for sure a powerfist should be present!
-Grimaldus and Helbrecht would have to happen for the Black Templars. They'd just have to. I'm expecting the Emperor's Champion to make an appearance as a Stratagem option for the Black Templars and parts to be in the Black Templars upgrade set.
-Vulkan He'stan for the Salamanders, in Gravis with a Flamestorm Gauntlet and his spear.
-Shrike in Phobos Armor with a camo cloak and a Bolt Sniper Rifle(which is fluffily enough, the Shrike Pattern) or an Instigator Bolt Carbine.

Onto the non-Codex Chapters!
-Ragnar Blackmane, in Phobos Armor with a pair of wolves accompanying him.

What are you wanting/hoping for?

They won't do ones that don't have a regular Primaris marine parallel. At least not right away Calgar is basically Super Aggressor. Tiggy is a Libby with a staff. Not too far out of bounds. Kor'sarro is a captain with a power sword.

Pedro Kantor is easy as a Gravis Captain. He even gets a bonus power sword to go with his Super Arrow of Dorn Boltstom Gaunt.

Helbrecht has a Combi-Melta. Not even Plasma. This could slow him down, even though his iconic gear is the sword.
The EC is easy.
Gimaldus with a plasma pistol is easy- Intercessor Sgts already have those.
Hestan with a Flamestorm and his spear is relatively easy.

The Dark Angels and Blood Angels are in trouble. No Jetbikes, No Terminator Armor, No Combi-Plas, No Jump packs, no Melta pistols.

Your idea of Blackmane in Phobos is an interesting idea, I was hoping Armor based psychics/rules wouldn't be a thing when Phobos moved to the main codex, but it looks like it is based on the expanded Infiltrator rules. We could see some of the named captains turn into Phobos - though I would have thought Kor'Sarro Khan would have been on of the first in that line.

I wonder if anyone will fail the upgrade and end up in a Dreadnought or similar?

Oooooh, good call. That would be awesome.
Someone is all but gauranteed to fail the upgrade and end up in a Dread. Take Bjorn (and for some unfathomable reason Murderfang) out of his sarcophagus to undergo the transformation and rejoin the land of the living. Have the upgrade succeed AND fail - he's now a Primaris, but it didn't restore him to full life. Into the Redemptor he goes.

Vulkan isn't a Chapter Master? He's just a captain? They're going be adding more characters already I would assume. I expect to see a Chapter Master, Chaplain, Captain, and a something thematic for nearly every chapter - (they might skimp on IF/CF/BT), and a Chief Libby for everyone but the Black Templars.

And Vulkan is pretty in-line with an existing Primaris model. The ones that fail the conversion will be the ones that don't fit into a generic Primaris themed model and they can't decide on a new theme - i.e. Lysander with TH/SS or Shrike with dual LC's.

you're assuming GW won't think twice about putting lysander in a 2+ set of gravis armor and giving him a thunder hammer

I'm assuming the pains they've gone to to severely restrict the weapon cross-overs between 1.0 and Primaris Marines will continue. At least for a while. They'll give up and open the flood gates, but not for a while. Are there a lot of Primaris with Thunderhammers and/or Storm Shields?

Look at who they've done so far -

Calgar with the Gauntlets. There were no 1.0's with them, they're similar to, but distinct from the (auto) Bolt storms, and power fists have crossed over even before Calgar did.

Kor'Sarro - Bolt pistol and power sword. Still No Bike.

Tigurius - this one gets tricky - Primaris Libby's are limited to Force Swords - and I'm not sure if the Rod of Tigurius is a Force Rod which nobody has or a Force Stave. This may matter less when you see Space Wolves with power axes, compared to Vanilla Primaris with Power Swords.

So far it's usually either been completely unique weapon without any sort of modeling equivalent in a squad box - or something that has a modeling bit in a Primaris box. Three models have a Heavy Bolter now. One of them has a unique heavy bolter it can use as a pistol. One has Twin Linked Lascannon. Not sure any have storm bolters, etc. There could be 30 flavors of infantry bolters on a Primaris before we're done and not one would be the original. They came up with new Plasma weapons instead of swapping over the rifle and cannon. They built new Stubbers, they built new Gatling Cannons instead of AssCans. Maybe Lysander and Shrike (and others) make the switch with their current gear, Maybe with new gear. Lysander going shooty with their focus isn't out of the realm of possibility, maybe they get squat'ed, or don't make the switch at all. I wouldn't be surprised to see Shrike with some Frankenstein's Monster of Assault Plasma/Bolters and a Gravis Jump Suit. I'm kind of surprised they didn't do it when they upped him to Chapter Master - or save the upgrade to Chapter Master for after they updated his model/gear.

maybe but GW's never limited themselves on what vanilla versions can take when dealing with special characters. Kaldor Dragio's storm shield being an excellent example.

Sure they have. They haven't been exactingly strict about it, but they've done it. That's why Draigo, Yarrick, and those few are the exception proving the "rule". How many special characters have something another army's (on the theory Primaris and 1.0's are a different army with the way they've got stubber/30 kinds of Bolt Rifle) basic/generic troop/character faction-specific (i.e. not the generic power sword but a Power Klaw, a chain axe, or a shuriken pistol) weapons on their special character? Even within the same umbrella faction weapon cross over is limited/rare based on archetypal categories. Bolters/Lasers - i.e. the Heavy Bolter and Lascannon transfer easier (as generic slug thrower and Laser Weapons) but the Plasma Cannon does not - for Guard it's vehicle only I think. Marine Stubbers have been vehicle only.
