So, with the new Space Marine codex, I'm considering making my own successor chapter to the White Scars. But, I've heard very conflicting things about how the White Scars operate since the new Kor'sarro Khan model comes without a bike/grav chute/jump pack/etc. I know they depend on high mobility, but is that done via vehicles, or are they just quick ground pounders?

Thanks in advance!

It used to be that (like Blood Angels for example) they are mostly Codex Compliant but are famed for their use of bikes somewhat out proportion to thier usage.

Most of their force (again Like BA) will be tactical marines - or the Primaris equivalent using appropriate transport.

They are not fond of being interred in Dreadnoughts.....

I AM A MARINE PLAYER

"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."
Inquisitor Amberley Vail, Ordo Xenos

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

Lucky for you there is a brand new White Scars supplement that goes into quite a bit of detail on each individual brotherhood (company) within the White Scars chapter.

Lots of bikes, lots of speeders, lots of mechanized Infantry. Zoom in, take out their target, keep on zooming.

the conflicting bit you heard is likely from "they all use bikes" and their captain char not being on a bike. but the bikes bit is a bit... exaggerated. rather the white scars are about high speed. a white scars list should have lots of fast attack units, and should also have their infantry mechanized. for a fluffy list your tac squads should be in rhinos and razorbacks and your intercessor squads should be in repulsors and impulsors.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Landspeeders & bikes would make a very fun WS force, more so if you include the new Primaris stuff as well. Impulsors give you fast hard hitting and the ability to drop out hellblasters or intercessors. supplemented by bike squads, storms, & reg LS should yield a fun list with adaptability.

Mongolian Horse Archers... in SPAAAAACE.

Pretty much.

Fast-attack, hit-and-run raids, high mobility, etc.

Homebrew Imperial Guard: 1222nd Etrurian Lancers (Winged); Special Air-Assault Brigade (SAAB)
Homebrew Chaos: The Black Suns; A Medrengard Militia (think Iron Warriors-centric Blood Pact/Sons of Sek)
