Aka How do I escape from being charged? I wanted to have my intercessors [flying primaris plasma guys] fall back from a big stompa [work transport mecha thing] charge that would have wiped my guys out. Trying to find the video that explained how to do it. I thought I got a three inch fall back or disengage which would have made the charge harder <instead of having to engaging in overwatch >. Can you tell me where the rules might be in which book? Or link me youtube vid on the subject?

Thanks guys

The flying guys are Inceptors.

You can't fall back until your movement phase. If an opponent rolls a high enough charge to reach you there is generally not much you can do to stop them attacking you. (There are a couple of exceptions, for instance Eliminators if they take a carbine on the Sgt, but these are very niche).

You will have to wait until your turn, then fall back. As this unit has FLY they can shoot the same turn they fall back though.

I really thought there was two options you had if you were charged. One was to over watch, the other I thought was to try and go but you didn't get to shoot. Is that just a killteam thing. I may have tainted my 40k with a lil bit of killteam rules I do this all the time.

That is a thing in Kill Team yes, but definitely not in 40k.

Not true. Eliminators can move after shooting overwatch, but only the first time.

Covering Fire
The first time this unit’s Eliminator Sergeant fires Overwatch with an instigator bolt carbine in your opponent’s turn, this unit can, after it has resolved its Overwatch, move as if it were your Movement phase (it cannot Advance as part of this move).

I already mentioned that in my first post

Thanks for clearing that all up. Just wish I could have saved them. Thought he would have tried to prevent my trap by not attacking the smallest squad there , but he was smart and forced me to sacrifice almost my whole army by surrounding and blowing him up thus preventing a way for him to deploying his boyz inside. Still won though.

"He played smart" and "He fielded a Stompa" does not fit together. Literally the worst Codex superheavy in existence.

You can play smart with an underpowered list. No contradiction here.
