want to bring a Bloodthirstier to my 1st game in 8th edition, what is the best one and best strategy for them?

The best bloodthirster is a winged demon prince with skullreaver. But if you really want to run a bloodthirster i would run the wrath of khorne, because its one of the cheaper versions, his WS stays the same, his decreasing BS doesnt matter for his hellfire weapon, and he has the relentless hunter rule. Relic would be armour of scorn, and warlord trait oblivious to pain.

I usually take the two handed axe, but I do realize that the skullreaver is basically the same thing. However, with the new sweeping profile of its weapon, it no longer is completely relegated to just being anti-tank.

Wrath is a good general use version. If your meta is lots of big things and vehicles Insentiant Rage would be better. I like them both personally. But Rage is my personal favorite.
