Is it just me or is the FAQ that gives other marine factions the +1 attack rule on assault, and the d6 vindicator shots? I can only seem to see the Space Marine August update, and then the 4 killteam FAQ pages. Nothing for the other part of the August update. What gives?

This one? I can see it on the FAQ page labelled "SPACE MARINES ERRATA 16/08/2019"

Odd. It is definitely now missing from the FAQ section, although still reachable via the WC Article.

They've just published the new Marine FAQs, so perhaps it's glitching.

Q. If I upgrade my Captain in Phobos Armour to be a Chapter Master, should the Infiltrator Comms Array still work with this model, and with its Chapter Master ability instead of Rites of Battle?
A: No.

So...yeah. I don't know what the hell to make of this.

It literally would require a new model for this to make sense. The Infiltrator Array is the set of aerials on the backpack.

RAW it makes sense. The coms specifically let you make use of 2 named auras. The CM upgrade replaces the captains aura with a new one, which is not called out by the coms array as one you can use.

Stupid? Yes. But that’s what’s written.

Shame that they didn't, y'know, just make it so that the Chapter Master upgrade couldn't be applied to Phobos Armor.

Or make a Chapter Master profile, period, that was separate to the Captains.

So the reason it's gone is because they updated it. https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/warhammer_40000_space_marines_errata_en.pdf

And ruin army lists for stealthy chapters. Bravo.

You either would need 8 chapter master profiles, bloating the book, or have one generic, terribad (especially when it comes to option access) profile ruining tons of list of players who want to make yourdudes army, but find bland, generic CM not fitting for some reason or other. All because you can't parse one pretty clear rule. Bravo again.

When I see posts like this I am glad some dakka posters aren't in the charge of rules, because somehow, "fix" here usually means ruining fluffy parts of the hobby because powergaming combo #385903 doesn't want to work as written and needs to be rammed through, setting be damned.

I liked that they fixed Greyshield from Indomitus Crusade...but then they gutted the whole thing utterly. So now the only use of vigilus is to get that warlord trait for a CP.

Edit - Aw, you can have acres to Liberators still; still a very raw deal for the 3 of us using Vigilus

So they forgot to remove Icon of Hate from Chaplain Dreads. Sure they cannot take relics, but who cares with the pile of goodies that thing has to offer. Step aside young one. Lord Chaplain SMASHDREAD is here to purge.

Why did death watch intercessors get the reiver abilities?

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

I'd assume that you can add Reivers to your Intercessor Squads and that's why.

That is hilarious, but even without the Icon of Hate this seems like a pretty good character if you grab two CCWs and the self-buff

Funnily enough the Icon of Hate doesn't actually work because "in combat" has no meaning in 8th edition.

Karol wrote:Why did death watch intercessors get the reiver abilities?
Because Deathwatch "Intercessors" units have the ability to take various other Primaris models, Reivers being one of the options.

Being within one inch of an enemy unit that is within one inch of the dreadnought should do the trick.

Absolutely, it's very easy to work out what is meant by in combat. Non issue.

It's also very easy to work out that all ranges are in base 600. Just as much justification as your claim. It's getting rather tiring to have people continuously ignore the rules whenever its convenient for them and then try to paint people who follow the rules as the bad guys.

Or at least do the non-fething-stupid thing and add the Master of the Chapter aura to the list of specific auras that Comm Array is compatible with and call it's omission an oversight.

I also like that they spelled out that yes, UM Aggressors can move and double-tap turn one. The lack of self-awareness required to see that question pop up so much that it made it into the FAQ and not ask if maybe people are asking because the combo is unbalanced and not because the wording is unclear is kind of breathtaking.
