I am not an uber painter, but I like my armies to have uniformity. I also play the occasional tournament at the FLGS.
Painting my Phobos Libby. My army is an averland sunset washed with seraphim army. The contrast color is red highlighted to orange as seen below. Librarians wear Blue armor for their specialty. Thus, my Libby will not match the marines around him in that way. He is a Phobos style, but I want his cloak/cape/camo whatever pattern to match the rest of the army so he fits in.

I know this is a completely subjective thing, and I'm aiming more at the modeler/hobbyist players (hey, I get it, paint doesn't help wins or losses). How many people does this bother? Does it make a Phobos Libby less recognizable as such to not be wearing camo? Does it even matter?

Pics to show scheme: (I'm a realist here, My camera sucks, my painting is average, so no need to pick the low hanging fruit)
Here is the Libby in Phobos conversion (I've shared him before)

Here is my color scheme. he will have the blue libby armor, but the red/orange cloak.

I really can't tell what's going on with that model. If I saw it I definitely would not think it was a librarian.

@PH34: Thanks for the response. The pictures aren't great. What identifies a model as a librarian for you? Can I get some specifics so I can work on it?

(Obviously he is unpainted now, so besides the blue armor) His right hand is up as if casting a spell, and he has the armored extension above his head that librarians have. What else can I do to make him a clear librarian? Is it the sword? Libby's have a force sword, but my other two (GW) librarian figures the sword looks like a power sword.
Here's a side view showing the arm better.

While camo cloaks are normally painted in a camo pattern, I don’t think it’s required. He might have it turned off, or set to blend in with the oxide plains of Feros-7. Your mini, do what you want.

Context means a lot for picking out what a mini is. What’s the difference between a power sword and a force sword? Paint some runes on the side of the blade, or blue where the normal swords are green, and you’ll be set.

Paint an eldritch glow coming for his casting hand, or eyes, or both would also define him as a librarian. The psychic hood is another major feature you have.

I guess the parts that are hardest for me to discern are his face and arms, he's got huge (ogre?) arms, and no power armor? What's going on with his face, is that a human head?

@PH34: He does indeed have ogre arms. That is my theme for the army. Most of the marines are converted with them. He is based on a Primaris marine from the snap fit box. So his legs and torso are power armor. His face is a heavily cut down ogre face (I wanted the eye patch). Here are pics of him painted. Maybe the detail's a little better. (My painting is average at best, and for some reason my camera has washed out the shading on the reds and made other parts shiny)
