Good job it got renamed to being the Autumn
FAQ last year, really

Sure. But I think they would've announced that.
They announced they'd move
FAQs from "whenever" to March and September each year in December 2017.
They announced they'd move the March
FAQ to April to take in Adepticon about 8 weeks after that.
Since then, they've always been true to that April/September schedule, if often late in the month, despite people still giving them a hard time for having the "march" thing on their Warhammer Community site, despite "march" being the date for shorter than "april" being the date even before the first spring
FAQ ever hit.
Also, the rules team was at the
NOVA open. That's the "meta" they studied at the last big event (as well as general
40K before that). I don't think Marines will be in the equation. The
FAQ almost certainly is long finished from a content perspective. They should be at the stage where they are translating it into various other languages, proof-reading it to accurately reflect the rules changes in all languages, generally proof-reading it, etc.., etc.., etc...
Also,
GW will put up a new
40K Rulebook on pre-order this weekend.
If (if!) there are no more sweeping core-rules changes and if (if!)
GW plays this reasonably smart, I’d hope this new rulebook will be up-to-date with the changes to the core rules and to the matched-play-specific rules that went through various
FAQ Betas and
CA implementations in the past two years.
And even than, there will be 100+ pages of “we slightly clarified the wording on this obscure Harlequins Strat because people mailed us questions” or whatever.
Also, I could see them changing all double-fight strats and abilities to match the new wording of Honour the Chapter, though they might also leave it until individual Codexes are re-done and/or 9th Ed. drops.
