This guys channel is amazing, I can sit and watch it for hours and hours. The attention to detail and the amount of hand done work on the models are amazing.

If you like SMA then you might also like these as well:

There are plenty of other good channels out there as well, some more active than others. And most of the techniques are still applicable to wargaming models.

Very nice channels. I like SMA because of how quite and chill his videos are. It's fun to watch him work.

Been watching SMA for years. Plasmo is also excellent, I've started watching Night Shift a lot recently. Always tidbits I can take away from scale modeling and apply to miniature painting and modeling (and I still do the odd scale model - been doing only that for the last few years until recently!).

I grew up with my father building models all the time, so I inherited that as my transition into wargaming stuff. While the quality is superb on SMA, I don't see much that I wouldn't do - obviously nowhere on that skill level! (until you get to all the water spraying tricks on some stuff). I am shocked when Warhammer gamers occasionally discover a very basic "model building" trick or skill or tool, as I take them for granted having inherited it mostly.

I have close friends who literally don't own sandpaper or sanding sticks, or even a file...they assume you simply clean everything with an X-acto knife. Or they don't own stuff as simple as tweezers!

I have cutters and a knife and that GW Flash tool and that's it. Truth be told, I use the Flash tool so much more than even the knife. It's interesting!

Yeah, then I definitely encourage you to pick up a handful of tools. I still have a god-awful pink flip-top case that my father picked up for me...I stash all my tools in it. Any simple thing that helps you get work done quickly and efficiently.

The SMA and similar channels showcase how useful all of the tools can be, but keep in mind a lot of these channels run around 50+ hours per model. It all comes down to how much patience you have
