Hello, new to 40K so this may be a noob/dumb question.

Really into the idea of getting some Sisters of Battle. Just read Red and Black and I enjoyed it.. Wondering what faction the Sisters of Battle can ally with?

Literally any IMPERIAL faction.

I run a battalion of Guard behind my Sisters to provide some additional warm bodies and ability to reach out and touch someone to compensate for the overall incredibly short effective range.

Not only can they have allied detachments from any Imperial Faction, Adeptus Ministorum units can be incorporated into Sisters detachments without disrupting order traits; this is a minor distinction, as Ministorum units are in the dex, and most players consider them to be a part of the same army.

It's worth noting, however, that Psychic Awakening may see changes to the Inquisition rules, and fluff wise, the Ordo Hereticus should integrate into the army as easily as Ministorum.
