Hi guys,

I am going to make an exalted champion using a blood warrior model, then arms (and possibly shoulder pad/s) from khrone berzerkers and then I have a spare metal CSM backpack (the one from the old metal chaos lord with the skulls on poles).

I realised after completing my chaos army not a single character has a bolt pistol, and well, deamon shells are a thing.

Anyway, my question is, what CC weapon to model him with?

I go rule of cool first, so whatever looks coolest and is legal in the CSM codex. Second it must be something I can relatively easily get hold of on ebay.

Any ideas?

Sounds like you're heading down a fairly Khorney route, so I'd say an axe - either chain or power...

Personally, I would recommend combi-bolter + chainaxe/chainsword. It's an extremely efficient build.

Although you probably don't want to use Daemon Shells on a model with only BS 3+. A warpsmith or lord would be better candidates.

As above, bs 2+ for daemon shells. Warpsmith is an ok carrier, add a combiplas or combi bolter and you get one shooty support dude.

Yeah Khorne(ish), I suppose a chainaxe actually could work nicely. I have some nice Kromlech ones, actually I have a double sided one that might look good.

I actually modelled my army a little bit after the bad guys in the Doom 2016 PC game, I have a mix of CSM and deamons, CSM painted similar to black legion and the deamons have that pale red colour the IMPs have in that game.

The only other thing I was kinda half thinking about was some kind of power maul, but I am struggling to find a decent looking one on ebay, I have seen an exalted champion modelled with one, but it was huge.

the AOS Wrathmongers kit has some great Khorne weapons, including a pretty solid stand-in for a Power Maul. Other option is the...DA Veterans sprue which has a chunky one in an outstretched hand or the new CSM Havocs have one for their Champion I think.

Many thanks, I had a look through ebay with the AoS wrathmongers and ended up finding something just perfect



I think that on a blood warrior model, bolt pistol in the right arm, space marine back pack, probably helmeted head also rather than open helmet, reckon it'll look the business.

I'll post a photo of the model once its all done and painted, maybe in a week or so.

EDIT: Rules wise ill just say thats a power maul, I can't see anyone objecting.
