Ive recently began to play warhammer 40k, ive had a beserker army in my cupboard for years, so i decided to paint them up and play with them... I modeled them with a Axe and Chainsword because i was under the impression that a chainsword gives them one extra attack. I went to a GW store and mentioned how cool they are cos of the +1 attack, and the manager went crazy saying that that a chainsword doesnt give a plus one?... my question is do they actually give a extra attack..
This same manager said that beserkers get to fight twice straight away in the fight phase. I was under the impression that they beserkers fight, then the enemy squad then the beserkers again?

Yes, they grant an extra attack with the chainsword profile each time the model fights.
Bezerkers fight twice, complete process. So if they charge, then they can fight twice before the enemy does

Chainswords do give you an extra attack, though that extra attack must be made with the chainsword, you can't use it for the chainaxe.

Chainswords do not grant an extra attack, they grant an extra attack with the chainsword, you can't get an extra attack with another weapon.
Berserkers can fight back-to-back if they charged that turn, because charging units fight first.

Unless the enemy has an ability that lets them fight first as well, such as the Counter Offensive Stratagem or Slaaneshi Daemon's Quicksilver Swiftness.

If they fight again though it means enemies could interrupt you.

don't forget they now also get +1 attack if charged or charged with hateful assault.
So 2 chain sword dude gets 5 attacks then fights again for a total of 10!
1 chain sword, 1 axe is 4 for a total of 8.
